I considered adding a rack & pinion to my 69 but most of them will fit Camaros and not Firebirds. The rear steer versions output shaft hits the motor mounts on a Pontiac. The Camaro uses different motor mounts so it's not an issue. The front steer versions can be made to work with a Firebird, but you have to do quite a bit of fab work to the front cross member and you need different steering arms. So instead I went with a 92 IROC camaro quick ratio box and all new Moog steering components for a lot less money.
