Well, I bought a '66 AM radio for my Mustang that ended up not working when I got it. It was beautifully rechromed and everything though!
So, I finally got around to getting it fixed. I wanted a local shop in Atlanta if possible and I did find a good one:
Auto Audio Service & Restoration Company 1200 CENTRAL AV EAST POINT, GA 30344 (404) 762-5350
The shop is owned by a guy named Hans (he told me a story about fixing these radios way back when they were brand new...he's got a lot of experience) who does the mechanical type restoration work and the rest of the business seems to pretty much be run by David who does the electricals.
I shipped them the radio since I didn't have time to drive down there during the week and they had it fixed in about 4 days. Hans took the time to get the push buttons working perfectly and David found/fixed an internal short and dialed in the tuning. They also cleaned everything inside and out.
Hans also recommended an original style speaker that he had...I needed one so I got it.
For everything the price was $103.00 which is very reasonable considering the speaker, parts, and labor to get it working.
