PS - as for "running" - you could rig up something with a container and a fuel line right to the carb to gravity feed the engine. That will allow you to at least run the car - not really drive it.

That's how we got my car in from the street into the garage - rigged up the portable "tank", and 1 person held the tank and guided the driver where to go, while walking along side the car.

I used a plastic funnel from Walmart for $7. It had a cover for the funnel, and a built in filter, along with an on/off valve and a clear plastic tube. Fit right onto the stock fuel line with a clamp, and we were good to go!
