Yes, it is MUCH better. I used some high gloss rustoleum on some parts and they have already faded and started to chip after 5 years. Subframe and floor pans still look GREAT covered in POR15.
You can get a spray can of Zero Rust online, too that's as good as POR15, cheaper and easier to apply. I have some of it on my car, too and it still looks great.
