I have a couple of open holes on my firewall and need to know which one to route the hood tach light through to hook up to the fuse box inside. I saw a manual brakes car at a POCI show last weekend that had it routed through a hole next to the master cylinder. My car has power brakes and the hole would be behind the booster. Can anyone with power brakes and a hood tach tell me if the hole is still located behind the booster or somewhere easier to reach? Since the tach was supposed to be dealer installed, I would guess they would drill somewhere much more accessible.
Second, I have a CA-delivered 400 coupe. The coil is definitely not in the right place at the moment. When I got the car it was mounted on the passenger rear of the intake on a tapped mounting boss. Not sure it is correct and wonder if anyone else has a CA V-8 to check the position of the coil? Here are a couple of shots of this area:
