I was going to say, but 4da' beat me to it. When you are refrencing the slip yoke relationship with the transmission, it MUST be sitting with the car on the wheels. IE if the car is on a jack,
stands, or a lift with the wheels hanging, you will NOT have an accurate measurement. And yes, the center to center of joint measurement is what a driveline shop wants to see.
