What if the guy (previous owner)needed cash and did not want to sell the car, do you not think he would sell the hood for a few bucks and hope to replace it later with another 400 one or just a plain hood? I personally do not see anything funny about this auction other than he is under the impression that it was a rare paint colour.The bidding doesn't look awry either.$2500 doesn't seem to be out of line for that car IMO. No offence Jim, but i wish i could find a car pretty complete and (looks to be solid)like that today for $1K although i have bought two (check definition for d'oh!!!) for $500 each 15 years ago.
