right Ron, its not a matter of if it will break, (and this goes for anything when you drag race)its when it will break.I just want to know if its is up to the task of going out to the track on the weekends I have already rebuilt this axle with all new bearings and a new 3.90 gear set but this was done when i was going to put a mild built 400 in it not a edelbrock head 474 prepped by R&S racing in Albert Lea,which if you are in the midwest I highly recommend him. I was going to run a 4speed muncie behind it but that proved to be a bad idea.so i have now put together a 350 turbo to go behind the engine andnow am deciding what to do with the rear axle i was contemplating just putting a set of moser axles and just upping the spring rate on the factory safety trac diff(eaton said they make a spring kit that will take the capacity up to 6-650 ft lbs.it would be alot cheaper to do that than to have a totally new axle made by moser or find a used camaro 12 bolt or nova axle(have you seen what these things are going for ?!).Plus it would be a true pontiac axle underneath.
