Yes, SC, the trunk release button should be in the Glove Box. Also there was a hole there for the Glove Box Light as part of the lighting group (under hood light, trunk light, courtesy lights under dash (standard) the glove box light and in 68 the ignition light (Have never seen this one myself))

But the mechanism is relatively easy to come by if your not trying to find the correct date code etc... But the button is a little harder to find. Should be a smaller black or green button for the First gens.
