Nothing like the smell of a freshly killed skunk in a trap. Try to hold your food down.
I have to agree, skunk is one powerful odor. Two years back, one of the package cars (UPS delivery truck) came into the building reeking of skunk. The driver swore he didn’t hit one. But it was bad, I mean gagging bad. One of the car wash people took it out to the wash bay and found part of dead skunk stuck between the rear dual wheels.
Another was fresh lobster. Now wait, there’s a story. A customer had to have five boxes of fresh lobster delivered NDAS (Next Day Air Saturday). The receiver was not there to accept the shipment so the items came back to the building. Still no contact from the receiver.
Unfortunately the driver didn’t take the packages off the truck. So they sat for two days outside in the August heat inside a UPS (oven) package car. Monday when the vehicle had to be moved, the driver brought it in the building. Once the cargo door was open an unholy smell lofted out. It made everyone in a ten foot radius gag and almost vomit. They had to call the Haz Mat folks to remove the spoiled goods. The cargo area in the truck had to be washed out.
And if you have you car sit for a long enough time, mice or rodents will make it their home. And then they die in their happy home, and your left with the smell and finding the nest.
Dead animals has to be the worst of smells in a car!
