it will bolt up to your engine and crossmember fine.81 cant remember if it was a year that you could get converter lock up . Beardog,is there a 4 pin electrical connector on the side of the trans.if there isnt good trans will work on your car no problem.if it does it will probably still work no prob,but will need to do some extra work if you want to utilize converter lockup.
