Well, it's rainy today, but I did take the car out for a little spin. Had to take my car by the body shop so the owner could see how a 69 nose goes together. He's assembling a buddies car.
Anyway,I'm getting a miss at 4000 rpm. At first I thought it was spark related so I checked the cap and the little nub that passes through the bottom of the cap had apparently gottne warm enough to melt the plastic a little. Put a new cap on it and still get the same thing. I changed the springs in the dist to get the curve right....little more power, but the miss at 4000+ is still there.
Next thing to change is the Fuel filter, I guess.....
I have to say, though....this thing doesn't make as much power as the UD solid I took out.... I didn't think the small difference in duration would make that big a difference. Wonder if it's the combination of roller cam and mediocre flowing ported iron heads. It get's to max lift faster and keeps the valve open longer. My heads flow 258/232 and was still climbing between .500 and .550, so it should make a ton of power....
