Swap the door for one with a good seal. Sometimes a previous owner has switched out the heater core and hasn't paid enough attention to getting everything sealed up. That could be the problem. Either way, swapping out the box and paying close attention to the seals will fix the problem. You could take a look and see that the seals around the heater core tubes are intact where they protrude into the engine compartment.
