Sorry, forgot the RA! Yes, there is a base pan on the carb, an airfilter in that, a foam seal that mates the lower pan to the upper pan that is mounted on the under side of the hood and directs the air into the base pan... so essentially the two pans seal off the hot under hood air and pull cooler air from the scoops in the hood... Ram Air.
