On my Sebring ( Austin Healey replica w F**d 302) I had electric only because of no space...ran fine ,but was kinda noisy.. On the Bird I have now , (it used to be a 350, formmer owner put in a 400 and evidently got proiblems w heat..) when I bought it it had no X fillers , one masticated filler at the bottom side of radiator missing and had an electric 'help' fan...that did not always work , bad connection...and it ran fairly warm...210-220 on sunmmmerdays here in Houston w 95-100 outside on hills it would creep up in traffic it would creep up some.. I got the X fillers, installed the missing masticated filler , evidently had the filler panel under...and temps went down...I then got rid of the electric fan , which at this point only slowed air flow across the radiator, and now it almost runs too cool, 175-185 now on around 98F days...I do have a new cluth fan ( 1.5 yrs old) and a metal blade....Never did check the thermostat , but may have to, to now possibly add a statb w/ a higher setting...its not good to run too cool either , more wear on engine.....but I did remove the electric fan on my bird...for the two reasons,1) noisy (when it ran),2)in the way when I got everything elso to work, Bjorn
