i use a gasket sealer from GM dont have the number for it at the moment but its used for the steel shim head gaskets, it comes in a small can with a brush attached to the lid and its brown in color, it works very well and i have never had any leakes when using it. i use it for all my gaskets that have to do with water, and on fuel pump, timming cover, and on the outside of any seals like timming cover, and on the oil pan. it works better than silcone. it dont plug things up when you use to much
