This may sound stupid , but what about your rear springs?
Why did you replace the front?Were they worn out? if so maybe the rear are too? Maybe both sets need to be redone?

(I am assuming you do have a Pontiac engine in...400,so nothing had been altered before and the springs you took out were for another lighter engine...)
