I think the reason 69 prices are nuts, especially the verts, is the 69 T/A clone fad. People are adding a few things and paint, calling it a clone, expecting and getting big bucks, so the raw material (POS cars) value has jumped.
Yeah it's a 69 T/A vert clone, but who can afford a real one.

I don't have time for a job, I just need the money.
That second one you have listed was sold by my friend here in the Buffalo area last fall. He sold it on Ebay to the guy in Long Island for $7500 which was more than twice what it was worth. My friend bought it from his Fatherinlaw who was the original owner for $1500 put it on Ebay and it sold for $7500. The car was offered to me for $2500 and I passed.
If that car was purchased for $7500 a year ago, the buyer shipped or towed it cross state 400 or so miles at a cost of $4-600.
Makes no sense why he is taking a 100% loss at $3800 BIN. Either he stripped off some good parts (cocktail shakers, gauges, console) or money is of no object.
If the car was that bad, and I bid $7500, legally binding, yes. I would have walked away and taken a chance on being sued.

Well, I sent the link to my buddy and he agrees that it is definately the same car. The guy never came and looked at the car, he bought it on Ebay and had it shipped. From what I can see nothing is missing based on the pics. There was so much bondo in the car the side 1/4 markers were all filled in. The frame was busted although it now looks like it sits a bit better maybe he had it welded etc. I don't know how or why he willing to take such a loss but he must just want out from under it. If this is the same car it is not worth $2500 in my opinion.
When I watched the Ebay auction and saw it go for $7500 last year that's when I figured my car was worth 50k. But there again, there is that old oddity where junk sells for big bucks and something nice and complete doesn't. I just don't get it...
id do the bin and drive it while i fixed mine up. not too bad for a vert price. could be driven with a fresh paint and some carpet to make it look presentable as a 20/20 car.
