I listed 96 and 7K3 as my personal choices. If it were my engine I'd go with the 96s because they are documented as very good flowing heads. 7K3 also have large valve, but I am not sure if any emissions mods were done to them.
7K3 came on a 250 HP 400. 96 came on a 300 HP 400. Both are "net" numbers.
Either way, choose a fuel grade and adjust your build to suit.

6X have the 1.66 exhaust valve, whereas the 96 have 1.77. Make a difference? Probably not one to be felt underfoot.
I've met a few very stout 455 with 7K3, they're a bit of a sleeper head. Of course, it doesn't take much to be better than the 7M3s the 72 455s had on them!

i say buy a set of kaufmann racing heads or edelbrock heads and be done with it! with all the overtime your working willy, you should be able to buy it no problem!!!

for 350.00 you could at least paint them the correct pontiac color jim.my el cheapo 7k3 heads at least have a nice paint job and they are the correct color...c'mon.
LOL They are red because they are a red hot giveaway. Like stated earlier, where would you ever find a fresh set of Pontiac performance heads for $350? HOT HOT HOT!!! LOL
