Been snowing steady since about 4pm yesterday here in daBears land. Supposed to be about 8-10" total by the time it's done. Guess I'll head out to do the driveway again.
It's a 'learned thing'. When you are just learning to walk your parents and older siblings take you out into the winter wonderland and teach you how to have fun in the winter weather. If they do a good enough job of it the lesson stays with you..... After that, you miss the winter when you live in the south. I guess it could wear off when you get really old....

I love winter and have my whole life. I'm an old guy who loves to ski and be in the snow. Without traffic and the idiots on the road, I even enjoy driving in it. I wouldn't want to live where there were not four seasons.
I'm with Jim, an old skiier ..downhill and x-country..(don't want to endure the pain of taking up boarding), and more recent sledder. I love driving in snowstorms, snowpacked roads. On my way up to the cabin in fact in a few hours, and will be greeted by this view 3/4 way there....ya! Gotta love webcams
Mind you I like LIVING on the coast with its mild climate and DRIVING UP to the snowline.

LOL, "really old".... got it!
nah , I "used to" love it too, as a kid or up into my 20`s...while I was still there... I would cross country ski too, also did biatholon (ski/shoot)...I`d go downhill, ice skating , ice surfing....but its sure nice to be in the warm nowadays...when your 'really old'...
but I`ll tell you it REALLY hurts hitting a tree at 50+ mph going downhill (did it once as a 20 yr old!, went on the side of the 'normal run'....)
Or falling in a tree well with your skiis at the top of the well....after going off the "normal run". Need to be a contortionist to extricate oneself .
But I had my wineskin to keep me company and give me energy

Well, I am 39 and I have seen enough of the white crap for two life times. I have no use for snow whatsoever. I enjoy being outside and I enjoy classic cars. Therefore I am very happy with the move!

Man 1: Right. I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad would kill us, and dance about on our graves singing Holle'lujah.
Man 2: But you try and tell the young people today that... and they won't believe you.

Just got the news... This is the 'all time' snowiest Febuary in the history of record keeping in this area. The most show ever.... OK The plow truck is probably thawed out by now....
Got another 2" last night. Cleaned everything off after it stopped. Had another 1" this morning. At least the sun's out. Cant remember the last time i've seen it.

a quick guess.... You didnt hear that from Al Gore by chance?
Ice 'o' plenty...More than last year, but since last year's ice storm devistated the whole city, most of the branches and obsticals were already out of the way. A number of folks are without power, but I have mine! Last year it was two weeks before we could turn on a light bulb and get results.
