Balmy here this morning (nearly 60 degrees) but too dang windy. They are forecasting gusts to 55 mph.

3 inches of snow over the weekend. It's 34(F) degrees and melting now. The temps are supposed to raise all day and get up to 45(F) degrees tomorrow with a thunderstorm. Then the temps will drop to 17(F) degrees with ice and snow..... Never a dull weather moment in Michigan.
20's at night, low 50's day. Typical for this time. February should be about the same with a few more 40's days and the occasional 30's. March is always iffy what you get here. I hate winter!!!
Wanting a Custom fit in an off the rack world.
I don't have time for a job, I just need the money.
Looks beautiful out this morning(haven't been outside yet). Supposed to be mid 50s today w/a chance of showers. Had wind about 25-50 in some places yesterday. I'm just waiting for the water to dry up a little on the road and I'm pulling the bird out for a look around. Going over to Concord today to Matt's BT to pick up my Secret Audio. I've been off for about a week because of the rain. I kinda like winter sometimes.
It's sunny with high thin overcast. Temp will get up to 45°. It turns crappy tonight and tomorrow. The roads are dry so the cover on the cammer is coming off. I need to get to the Post Office, so it's a good excuse to give'er a spin. I don't mind winter, just how we have to deal with the ice and snow. Salt sucks!
Out of curiosity, what's the lowest temp for successfully starting a car without plugging in the block heater and without synthetic oil? I've started two carbed engines at -37 C but haven't been able to get an EFI to go below -30. Started a 1988 VW Golf diesel at -30 C with no assist but it took a few tries!
Lowest temp for the car to fire up, or the critical point at which the driver freezes solid while attempting to get in the car or the key in the ignition?
I am glad our winters are relatively balmy, but I still don't care for them. The best thing is that we don't see the neighbors for months.

In Russia I hear they usually get a small pan with oil or such , light it ,stick it under the pan to 'warm' up the oil for easier starts...its always cold up north there (Sibiria), and they have been warned this year , their temps are supposedly going to the -55C (+_ -75F)this winter (thats called Global warming!)
We were up at the cabin 2 yrs ago and my buddies truck would not go...it was -45 with the wind chill...we started a small fire, let it burn down to the embers, and rolled the truck over it. I maintained a respectable distance needless to say but it worked!
For a while there, my father was designing modular refinery buildings for Prudoe Bay, Alaska. They would assemble them in Seattle and then barge them up & around and then hook them together.
A couple of times, they made (or were going to make) field modifications that impacted the stuctural members, so my dad had to travel up there during the winter.
They gave him a truck to use with stern instructions to NEVER turn it off.

Cars don't care about wind chill, only temperature.
My personal coldest start (speaking of me not the car) was going out without a shirt and starting my '65 Pontiac, no choke Q-jet, at -30 C. I didn't lean back against the seat, otherwise I would have stick to it I'm sure!
Right now 5:22 a.m. -21 predicted high today -3 It is wednesday The day for the Jerk club, Time to ride and be glad it is winter. We will probably take the trails where the pitstops are closer together as some people whine when its like this. I think this is great!!!!!!!!!!
Crazy weather here! It was 45(F) when I went to bed. Woke up at 2 a.m. and it was 5(F) with wind gusts up to 65 MPH. Went back to bed. Got up at 5 a.m. and my 40 foot flag pole was lying on the ground. It's been up for over ten years so this was the worst it's seen. If I would have taken the flag down it would have survived. Ten years of 'weathering storms' built up my confidence that it could withstand anything.
Went from 51* down to 1* in about 2 hours last night. Rain changed to snow with wind at 30-40 mph, and gust's 50-60. It's 3* now. Every car/truck door/window was frozen. Finally got rh truck door pulled open and shouldered lh side open...then it wouldnt latch. Used a tie down strap from rh dr to keep it closed while coming to work. Road so slick, it would loose grip at 40-45 mph. Was fun passing people doing 30 mph.
Right now 7C/45F in Halmstad, Sweden were I stay at over the weekend. Have been pretty much the same weather since October, with little or now snow. First flowers have come up, and a bit further south people have starting harvesting potatoes.
Forecasts don't bring much hope of any winter at all this year. But I read they got some snow down in Syria...
Here we go again... It's 5(F) this morning. Expecting 8 more inches of snow tonight. I'm still saying, "It's nice to have a real winter for a change"! As long as my plow truck runs I'm happy.
here its low 60`s , actually 1F off "normal" on the LOW side, muggy and expecting tornadoes this afternoon, rain... but very unusual, the record warm was in 1971 , not in the 1948-55 as it mostly shows...and in 1971 they werent complaing about Global Warming...thats when they were warning of 'ice age'....these forcasters/predictors...
2 inches of snow overnight here with high winds. Nasty wind chill and snow drifts this morning.

Well, I have made a point after living in Buffalo, NY the majority of my life, to not only start, but to drive the Bird EVERY single day since we moved here to FL. The only days I have not driven the car was when we went up the NY for the Holidays.
I am determined to drive the Bird every day this year just to make up for all the misserable winters I spent in Buffalo. If it wern't for family I'd never go north of the Mason Dixon Line every again!
Did I mention how much I hate the state of NY? Armpit of the work IMO.
hah! I remember doing that with beer and wine after cross country skiiing in to Lake O'hara in Banff Nat. Park for an weekender, cept we had to dig our way DOWN to the Alpine Club cabin first. It was like a wine cellar outside the door
