First I want to thank everyone that helped me out with my project. I have been working on it since I bought it last June and just got it out on the road 2 weeks ago. It's a 68 OHC-6 1BBL.
I am a self taught mechanic and I have been working on cars for darn near 30 years now, but if it wasn't for the good folks on this site, I would still be scratching my head trying to figure some stuff out.
I have included some pix of my project, but first I want to thank everyone that contributed: Yellowbird, Quenton, TOHCan, Bjorn, If6were9, Drew67, BHawkmeck, Fbody69, maxepr, Rossetti J, FirebirdMike, 69 Firebirdman, Claus, bastereo, salmon 38, 68 Bigbird, Jimc2002, sprint67, 32teeth, 4dabird, FirebirdBill, RockyP, BronzeBird, Amervo, 68tpls400 and any others that helped me out.
Now that is awesome! Congratulations! I love to hear and see that there are some out there who will go the extra mile to bring back something out of the ordinary... Like an OHC!
Thanks for giving us the update, Great Work, you should be very proud!
Thanks for all the kind words. The color is Daytona Blue Metallic Pearl, Urethane Base Coat / Clear Coat. I could'nt afford PPG at $450 a gallon (just for the paint) so I bought the whole kit from the website below. Can't beat it for $240 and it worked out really nice. I'm wet sanding and buffing the clear today.
Very nice looking bird! With you being so close to completed I feel I should invite you to drive the 5.5 hours north to help me with mine...It's the least I can do lol. but seriously, that's a fine job and it looks great! You should be real proud!
