Hello all, I have a '67 vert, Lemans blue with white top and black interior, love the combo. I'm going to flame this car and wanted to hear opinions, and see picture examples also. I have thought of some options for flames, but would love to hear others, and see any examples.
1) Off white starting at bumper and fading to yellow/orange/red (classic flames)
2) Off wite fading to dark purple, almost black tips. (wife loves purple)
3) Lemans blue with added flake to create a lighter color visually, almost ghost flames, but then pinstripe the edges to make them pop
What colors have you all saw on Lemans Blue that really stuck in your mind, did not have to be flames. I'm repainting my '95 TA LT1 very soon, and want to incorporate the flame color in the engine paint too. Thanks for any and all opinions, feel free to send pics to coyote11p@netscape.net
long story, but I paid an artist $350 NOT to flame my car...
I have tyrol blue... and if I recall our deisgn was bright red nose of car that faded into white across the hood and I believe we outlined the flames in a thin fellow...
I like the white against the blue across the hood for sure. But in the end, it was the HOOD that kept me from painting it that way. I felt with the nostrals and natural beauty of the beak... the car was ART already and I wouldn't regret NOT painting the flames on.
The flame job was $700, I gave the artist half down for materials and after I decided not to flame the car I just called him up and said keep the deposit, if I decide to do it afterwards, I'll call him and we'll start over.
I still hee haw if this was the right decision or not. Since I still have the interior to go I may repaint the whole car again with something wild to match the interior.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
