I just got word there will be an all Pontiac car show and race at the dragway in Tulsa. They have some info on their website, or you may contact Larry Crider at gtovette@cox.net In short, the Ramada Inn nearby is offering a rate of $59.00. (Their # is (918)437-7660, mention "Pontiac Spring Nationals" for the rate. Friday the 9th (evening) is set up for a tech session and some food. Saturday is the day of the actual event. There is money to be paid out to the racers and there are supposed to be a number of NHRA Pro-stockers that are hoping to use their off week to practice. Should be alot to see. It is a POCI sponsored event, but you do NOT have to be a POCI member to participate. This would be a GREAT time to get together and meet with one another as well.
Good deal. They always have a decent show, but with the racing, it ought to be alot of fun. As I understand, NHRA Pro-stockers have an off week and are in St.Louis near that time. Hopefully some of them will be there to do some testing. I've made my reservations, so I'll see you there. I plan on driving the 'bird. 'Bout the only thing to get in the way of THAT would be if we go as a family unit and bring the dogs.
I need to get one of those flyers too. T-town is only a couple hours from me. The Tulsa track was completely rebuilt just a few years ago and is a nice facilty now.
I just talked with Larry and he says things are looking good for the show and race. They are obviousy hoping for a good turn out so they can keep the ball rolling. ALSO he wanted me to foward that the RACE is saturday. Evidently some were reading friday, but that isn't the case. On Friday evening, it is more bench racing, but JIM WANGERS WILL be there speaking about the Royal Pontiac race cars.
