I would like to find a good Pontiac engine rebuilder in MI. The web provides some poor info on Pontiacs only. I know of several from the 60-70's era, however, I have not been able to locate them on the web. If anyone can help please let me know. From mild build ups to full stree rods, no dragging. P.S. I do not want some young Chevy guy working on an engine that was cast before he was born!
He was building pontiac engines with a sleeper and big poncho package very cheap. This was years ago. I went to the site and he's expanded quite a bit into all types of engines. I am sure prices have gone up since then. He was featured in High Performance Pontiac I believe in July 2000 or 2001? Never saw the article personally, but his facility was very nice. HP/TQ is confirmed with Dyno pull.
Harold Martin, is an ex GM guy, and a big name in the IHRA circuit. I was impressed with his facility in Wixom, MI, but he now has other locations.
Stay away from anything associated with Barry Martin, his stuff is overpriced & of questionable quality. He is only in it to profit as much as possible off you.
I've only sold parts to Barry. Never bought anything. He was a good buyer and a nice guy when he was at my house. He left his card and described his business, Sonic Motors.
Don't know if there is a relation to Barry. If I was still in Detroit, I would have had him rebuild my Pontiac. Very nice honest guy. His team is sponsored by Delco, the OEM's trust his testing facility and development work, and so would I.
He sold me set of crappy gears that the shop told me were questionable. I will admit, when I cofronted him on them he made a reasonable deal on a different part, still took his time to get it to me, though...just won't trust him again.
