I didn't want to hijack the other brake thread started this week. I am looking at this kit for a conversion from manual drum to powered disc. A fast car does no good when you can't stop.
This ebay kit seems to be complete, but I have concerns about the quality. Has anyone used something similar with good results?
Why buy something so important from some unheard of vendor off of E-pay?
Why not shop around the major companies selling kits like SBBC, MP Brakes, or Matt's Bow Tie? There's a real advantage here that you can call them up, talk about what you want, make the purchase and most of all - CALL THEM if you have a problem or installation question.
I just don't understand why everyone seems to think that E-pay is the only place to shop.

Thanks and I will take your advice and do my homework. Between the ebay vendor and the ones you mention, they are all unheard of to me, so thanks for the leads.
I purchased a Matt's Bowtie Kit for my 68 drum to disc conversion. Had no issues with it, even though I bought it through Matt's the boxes had the name of Right Stuff Detailing which is another distributor of the kits.
I also got a kit from Matt's. Its a complete 4 wheel kit, MC, booster, everything. I also got lines, clips, etc. Most boxes say CPP and its an OEM looking kit. I've got the rear installed and slowing working my way up front. So far I'm happy with the kit. I had a few questions and Matt (or at least Matt's email) responded within 24 hrs and it was a weekend when they are closed. I'm happy with them and have ordered from them in the past.
eBay, although a little scarier than when it started, isn't ALL bad. Just need to know who you are dealing with and ask around especially for bird parts. At least we'll know who to stay away from!
Thanks for the replies. I purchased a 4 wheel drum to power disc kit from Matt's ebay store on Friday. I will probably start with the fronts and work my way back. Also hoping the 11" booster doesn't run into any space issues.
Hey there. Are you buying the pre-assembled version, or are you going to put it together yourself? I am in need of a conversion too...my car was originally a disc brake car that drums were put on for some unknown reason. Everything at the top is still for a disc brake car, and all I need is everything at the wheels. No booster, proportioning valve, etc. If you don't buy it pre-assembled, how difficult is it to assemble yourself? Is a press needed for anything? Thanks so much for any reply. Winston
