Your smugness is really pathetic Jim.
Those here who have a problem with Obama have been pretty much with his political beliefs, not him as a person. It is you who always brings up the 'hate' aspect of things. It is the extreme left that seems to always have it's hate on. You seem to be one of those people lately. Is this a recent development in your life? I am truly curious.

When unemployment rises even faster because now we have Cuban goods flooding the markets on top of China, Mexico, Japan, etc. , and they decide to lower the limbo bar so that you suddenly "become" rich in the eyes of the government resulting in a hefty tax increase, we'll see how thrilled you are with this "exciting new direction."
When they talked about change, what they really meant is that is what will be left in your pockets by the time they're done.

I know it is going to be tough getting his agenda passed, but the attack on the second adm. is the peak (in my eyes)! What president would wittle away on the mountain which you place your feet? That is un-American! I would try and shore up your rights you have not try and realign, tear-down and mold a differnt way, that shows you he doesn't have our intrest in mind! I'm scared to think what he may try next, maybe genetically alter us to look the same BLONDE HAIR WITH BLUE EYES?? So no one has to feel different? Man we are screwed with this clown for four years.
I'd rather see a rust bucket on the road, than a garage queen anytime!!

Instead of complaining about it, let's give this a guy a chance and see how he's does ?
Then we can either complain or praise.

Hmmm..I think you jumped the shark with this comment. As a bystander up here in Canada, I've been very interested with the views expressed in this thread. But I have to say that Naziism (which is where I think you're going with the arian reference) is a form of extreme socialism and is not indicative of socialism unto itself. Socialist principles have provided us Canadians with some good things like baby bonus incentives and public healthcare. But, in the wrong hands, these principles can wreak havoc. Bob Rae and his NDP (socialist) government proved that when he was elected as the Premier of Ontario in the '90's. He drove the province into financial despair with all his spending.

Largest post election day drop in the DOW in history. -5.05% -486 points. And the experts had been saying that the October record drop had already included the poll-generated anticipation of Obama.

That's the industry I work in. The markets aren't reacting to Obama's election but to damage already done or in play. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=ayGi9S1U_hXo&refer=homeAnd there's more to come.

I echo Mark's comment that from a Canadian perspective this has been a very interesting thread. Thank you to the site administrator for allowing it to continue. A couple times I thought is was shut down. I admire the fact that you can duke it out and still remain friends.
North America has some challenging times ahead. We cannot leave the next generation the burden of this debt. What ever domestic policies that might be applied over the next four years will have little significance in comparison our response to the threat that looms from foreign ownership of our resources and manufacturing capability. The next strategy will not be to lend us money. It will be to buy our countries and the future of our children. We can't compete with state directed corporations from Asia that are using our own money against us until we get our act together.
If we really got our sh#t together it might take us the rest of our lives to turn this around.

LOL You go so far out of your way to annoy me on a daily basis and you are now whining about something like 'snugness'? Sorry, I will be more careful of your feelings...

Vikki, you know my feelings on this from my military perspective, and I can safely say I speak for many, many men and women in the military.
This concern has been building for almost a year now, amongst people of all colors and backgrounds across our military. Trust me, Obama did not get anywhere near 50% of the military vote (and that includes spouses and kids of voting age). 80-85 percent went to McCain, if not more.
Our only hope (military-wise) is that wacko Biden will control the pace a bit and keep Obama from drastic decisions. I'm not holding my breath, nor is my Son in Kuwait and my Son-in-law in Iraq.
But....lets just all get along here and move on....quietly but vigilantly. Like we conservatives said to the Libs in 2000 and 2004, GET OVER IT and move on! We here in my world are getting over it and moving on.

Mark, The way I read that, Wall Street has no confidence that Barry Soetoro will be effective. Nov. 5 (Bloomberg) -- The stock market posted its biggest plunge following a presidential election as reports on jobs and service industries stoked concern the economy will worsen even as President-elect Barack Obama tries to stimulate growth.

Jim, my life is full of things that are productive and pleasurable. "Listening" to you while you perceive everything as a personal attack isn't one of them. If you are annoyed by my commentary, it is because it hits close to home.

1.Pwned.
An expletive about a situation where something painful, embarassing, or bad happens to someone in real life.
2. Pwnt
A sudden, decisive and somewhat catastrophic ownage.
3. Owned
To be made a fool of; To make a fool of; To confound or prove wrong; embarrasing someone: Being embarrased.
4.Owned all over the place
To be severly "owned" by someone or something; to get "owned" someone or something in a extreme fashion
Bottom line...Past (owned) Present (owned) Future? Yep (owned)

You have expressed 'how you are' quite clearly as of late. You state, and I quote, "I will/would do something every chance I get to annoy him". If listening to this 'daily stash of annoyance' has changed my posting in some way, or the manor of conversation, then I'm not surprised. You say your life is full of things pleasurable. I believe that abrasiveness is what you find pleasurable. Like when you call Democrats 'Sheeps and Hogs'. And then you tell us your husband is a Democrat. Vikki, is he a sheep or a hog? You say your bed is cold near election time. Your frigidity is showing year round.

Chemistry; When you combine chemical elements and you get a reaction you have a catalyst in the mix. To determine the catalyst; You examine what is left 'unchanged' after the reaction and it is the catalyst. If you were to remove a chemical from the mix and the reaction stops, it doesn't mean the chemical you removed is the catalyst. It often means that the catalyst is just dormant until the next time a chemical is added that the catalyst reacts with. Montreux, Enjoy your peace....

For everyone that hates the way the election turned out, I can say for sure this time.
Blame it on Bush.
He took down the Republican party for this election cycle.

Ok, after this last comment I`m locking this thread ,it has run its course... 1) thanks for the update Tom (Banshee) I expected worse, glad it stayed "low".. 2)We should all thank Geoff for letting this 'political thread' run its course..its unusual that we let this type run ,but in times like these....it was 'good' to let people vent some
3) Obama wasn`t my choice ,and I still have doubts, but I hope for all our sakes he succeeds as a president, I cannot say I want him to succeed on some of his promises that go against all I`m about, but I will try my best to back him ,for the country`s sake...I hope all will try the same, afterall he DID get majority votes , not just electoral .....if he fooled us once it wont happen again....but in the meantime lets get behind him as much as we can...it is in our interest as a country.
thanks to you all for all the input!
