OK, I tore the pages out of my copy (I only have a sheet-feed scanner set up.) They are relatively low quality. If you want better I'll try that when I have time.

Camaro comment? I don't recall that. My copy is on forced loan so I can't check it.
Bjorn: My valve covers are from Moon, slightly different from yours. Who made yours?
Mike: I was dialing in my EFI when the weather broke so I don't know for sure. I'm hoping for somewhere between 15 - 20 mpg on the highway. The biggest challenge to mileage is keeping my foot out of it! I must say that it's very enjoyable to drop a couple gears at 70 mph and leave an annoying challenger in my exhaust.
I'm debating whether to spend $200 to have a plaque made of the article. There is a firm that works with HPP to make laser engraved plaques and I need to decide. Seems a bit lavish to me....
Great article, thanx for posting it. I think the Camaro comment is that is stated that "although the body contour is the same, one look at the rear of the car tel you that the Firebird is the better loking one.".
Great article, great car.
The invoice date on my car is 16th of feb 1967, built in the 5th week of January at the Lordstown, Ohio plant. Is that the sameproduction line as yours...?

John ,not sure who made them , but I bought them from Cowboy parts in California...he may make them too...he sells lots of polished aluminum parts on EBay...
yep, slightly different, but the same idea of nostalgic valve covers
Thanks Lee for making the sacrifice to tear the article out. I appreciate it. The car looks great John. Get the plaque, it's much sturdier than a paper article. Be proud. Not everyone gets that chance to have their bird in a mag. You deserve it!

I was going through pictures and found these behind the scenes out takes. These three were taken late on Friday August 24th. Chris Phillip, author of the story, is taking the pictures. He took about 60 or more until the sun was too low to shoot any more.
These are from the next morning. We met around 7am at the same place. He must've taken another 50 or so. Behend Chris in the first picture and across the road, you can see the Dayton Airport Hotel where the Firebird and Trans Am Nationals were held every year until last year.
Top up, top down, hood open, air cleaner off, interior, .... He took many pictures of every setup. He even took some pictures as I drove up and down the road. I may have to beg one of those off of him:)
Cool, a behind the scenes look. All of the above pics are nice but my favorite is the closeup of the bird with headlights on. Gotta love Chris on the ground getting the shots.

John whatever angle, she looks marvelous! Really stunning, ya simply have to be proud of all that work! And a great Xmas present to boot....Despite my strive for my correct engine...I LOVE what you have done with yours! Good for you buddy!
