Howdy stranger! Is there enough room for a child seat?
I'll actually need two these days Bill. I have a little girl now. She just turned 1 this month. My son is turning 4 in May,,,, HMMMMMM,,,, maybe I will be taking delivery around then. Think hell like his birthday gift? Too bad he wont be able to drive it for another 12 years To answer the question, its doable.
Actually the front looks more like a FB then camaro to me.
I think your seeing what you want to Mike. I have the thought of turning it into the concept TA though. That would piss those bow tie guys off in a mean way
BTW, I was thinking about picking this car up from your dealer but they came across really slimey when I went in there. F'in guy asked me if I wanted to put a deposit down for one after I was there for about 2 minutes. Every question that I asked about constraints, supplier issues, etc... was dodged or not answered at all. Guy had ZERO knowledge of the offerings, etc... Had to go to Carroll Chevy in CP. Had to support the home town and they were very straight up and honest about what they knew, didnt know and proved that everything they said about allocation was true. Shoot, should have you buy the car for me and Ill buy it from you

Sorry to here your bad experience. Do you remember his name? The owner would want to know. One is gone as of last Saturday. Maybe it was him.
Joe (68 BLKBRD) and I had a great talk this weekend, seperated by a few dead zones and the in-laws.
My visits to 5 different dealers has been marked by incompetance, shoulder shrugging and downright BS.
I got more info from the Camaro5 forum and Joe than from people trying to sell me a Camaro.
Needless to say, with all tolled, some GM dealers are offering GMS and employee pricing. Dealers are also permitted to sell the cars ar dealer invoice, not MSRP for supplier or employee pricing. Funy how these salespeople and managers are touting this car as a hot commodity.
It is a car..Not a one in a million painting.
GM needs to pull their heads out of their asses.

Not only is it "just" a car, albeit one of the most tempting new cars out there, it is also for sale in a market that can't move a car to save its life, very literally.
You think they'd be wining and dining you to get your commitment.

GM projected to have 30k pre-orders in 90 days. Those 90 days are up and the dealers are to be placing all the pre sales Feb 6th, if I read the "official" GM site right (Thanks Joe!) To date 10,900 Camaros were sold.
Now, there are at least 20 dealers within 200 miles of here offering to sell thier Camaro allocation at dealer invoice inc. all options, plus $500.
That to me sounds like someone is hurting for sales, and not just one dealer.

Of course they are hurting. I've taken a 50% pay cut and a 50% increase in hours to get it in the past year. Half the people I know who are directly or indirectly employed by the auto industry are out of work or have moved south or west, and the other half is very skittish about their long term prospects.
Of my friends in the building trades, building permits for 2008 for the entire state were fewer than 2,000, which is 10% of the permits issued in 2004. They've either closed their businesses, moved south or west, or have managed to find something else in the interim. That means 9 out of 10 suppliers of every trade are facing the same crisis.
Buy a new car? Two years ago, it was a must-do. Now, very few are confident enough to commit, and then it seems that most of the choices are "practical" cars.
I would take advantage of the purchase deals, but I have 5 more payments on my current daily driver and I'd like a break from car payments for a while.

Funny how dealers change their tone when you arm yourself with voicemails and emails from other dealers who will offer GM pricing for that car.
Camaro went from MSRP plus $1500-5000 addendum (1-3 years ago), MSRP (Oct 13-mid Jan) to $1000 below MSRP, to GM supplier price +$500, now to GM employee pricing, even though dealers are not authorized to sell for that.
Right now, dealers and salespeople can fight for my money.

All those people who spent $1000-10k more for the "first" one, will be sadly dissapointed. GM is plugging in all the sales info and the cars that roll off first are not necessarily going to the ones who pre ordered.
But we will see..

I think the Camaro, at least from watching the test mules on the road, is a superior car in quality compared to the Challenger.
I prefer the look of the Challenger, but I am tired of cheaply built cars. And the Challenger rides and feels like a cheap car, it's just a flashy and sometimes fast cheap car.
Timing stinks, otherwise the Camaro would have had a strong launch. Would have been nice to have the sister Firebird that deserves to be built, even if they limited it to a limited edition T/A model in keeping with the "specialty cars" idea.

I hear ya Mike, I managed to talk her into this one somehow,,,,, I just must be that good in bed NOT!
Anyway, the guys name at your place was Jonathan Devine. I was really put off by him and the approach/info your place had and they sent me back into the arms of Carroll. Actually as a intersting side bar that relates to this; my best freinds mother just bought a new Tahoe yesterday from you guys and my buddy bought her leased Trail Blazer..... Now, get this. My buddy calls me and says that the guy they were working with said to tell me not to buy from Carroll Chevy because they are selling the new Camaro @ $5K over MSRP and that Mike Anderson would sell it to me @ only $2.5K over MSRP! Are you kidding me! Too funny. 1st of all it's a bold face lie and secondly if they think that selling over MSRP is a deal then they are smoking something. I bought @ MSRP over at Carroll Chevy which is the best deal going in this area. They were very easy to work with and far more informed than Mike Anderson or at least Jonathan. They are also going to throw in a year's oil changes for free too, plus any other goodies/discounts that I can get when the deal gets close to closing. From what I can tell from the Camaro5 board is that the deals are really depending on the dealership your going to. I have heard of dealers selling cars well over MSRP and others selling under invoice. It appears to really depend on how that particular dealer is doing. Bad for me, it would appear that the dealers around here are doing ok becuase they werent moving on the numbers. We will see what else I can do once I have to pull financing together later,,,, no deal is done until the paperwork is signed. The negotiation has just begun
I remember you moving around, but I thought you were working over at Mike Anderson for a little while? Well, long and short, I am glad your not working over there. They are a gaggle of Douche Bags!
Nice to be on the right side of the negotiating, isn't it?
That's why I'm thinking of doing the same thing. My convertible gets paid off in March, so that frees up funds. My Blazer could bring a part of the down payment. The Columbus Auto Show is next month, so I'm going to take a long hard look. If I can't get a deal, I'll wait. The '11 5th gen will be clear of all the hype.
I to am thinking of a 2LT/RS, but that doesn't rule out a 2SS/RS. Either way, manual trans with Hurst short throw in Aqua Blue/ Black hockey strip.
Tom, I'm PM ya on the Blazer. I've put feelers out at the local dealers via internet. I also need to see what the UPS Credit Union can do. Since the payoff isn't until March I've got time to find all my options.
There's a link at the Z28 site for pricing. http://www.camaroz28.com/camarobuilder/ With employee pricing, the 2LT with the options I require I'm right at the line of how much I'd like to spend. If I can't get a better deal than that, I'll wait.
I'm sure the economy won't snap back quickly, unfortunately. Just have to worry about dealers you make a deal with going under. It's happened to one I know of. After I get some feedback from the local dealers, I may want to talk to your guy.
Just hope you don't cross my path on the highway with that new car, my friend. I'll smoke you in public, and everyone around us will know what went down.
I'll admit though, almost bought a new Challenger for the wife this year. She decided it did not have enough trunk space for her teaching needs. I was disappointed in her decision......
