My '69 had lost all it's interior before I bought it and I'm guessing it originally had the de-luxe trim, anyway it has the the square pull type door handles.I've recently purchased a fairly complete interior which I'm sure is the more standard trim option with the lift up to open, more conventional looking handles. What do I need to change on the mechanism to make the replacement handles fit so I can fit the standard door cards? Many thanks in advance for any replies
If you had a deluxe interior and are now installing the standard interior, you will need the standard inetrior door pull mechanism. NPD has them as well as CI. You might want to check your door regulators though. The deluxe has a longer window crank shaft so it would extend through the thicker deluxe panels. Using deluxe regulators with a standard interior will have your window cranks sticking out too far.
Thanks Colorado68, it might have sounded an obvious question but didn't realise these parts were available repro, was prepared to look for used once I knew what was needed. I will check on the window regulators too. Thanks again
