Hi, I'm new to this forum and I have a question about the PONTIAC lettering on the trunk of my car. Does anyone have or know where I can get a template to drill the holes for the letters in my trunk lid? My lid came off of a Camaro I think. Thanks Ben
welcome aboard Ben.... I dont have what you are looking for but I know someone or a few here have that...seen that being talked about before... plus you may be glad to know that you have a few fellow fgf`ers close by...I know of David in Cambridge...think theres someone in Kitchener too...and a couple of other guys in that general area!

if you want Davids email , email me at mine bsefeldt@mhinc.com , I`ll reply with it!
Ben,welcome to the forum.check out the show organization forum ,we got a group of guys with their cars going to an all firebird show in listowel this sunday 28th,you're welcome to join us.
Thanks Bjorn I'll email you. I have already printed off the '400' trunk lid template and it will be a useful reference. Someone must have it I think. I'm always looking to meet fellow fgf'ers
If no one pipes up soon, I can trace them off a spare lid I have and mail them to you.
PM me if you would like.

Thank you hslager69. I have heard of the Listowel show and other years I may not have trusted my bird to make it that far...lol. I think we have met before at the sunday cruise night at Canadian Tire in London. I told you I'd get around to joining. I will check out the show organization forum. I'll check my schedule.
Hey ben, just saw this forum and i remembered seeing a template for all the emblems on NPD. heres the part # C-12178-201A. its 25$ but i guess its worth it. Hope this helps
One of the problem with the use of a camaro deck lid is that the underneath were the palnuts go does not have the area cutout to accept them . Look at an original deck lid and you will see the difference .
Thanks Blaise, I will check that out. Also, thanks for the info on Camaro decklids Ponti. Since I don't have the original, I either have to use this one or find an original without major rust issues. The reproductions to the best of my knowledge, do not have the holes or cutouts either. I will make a point of looking closely at one on sunday if possible, as I am going to a big firebird show up here. The thing is though...no one ever has their trunk open. lol
What if it were orignally a 69' firebird decklid? Would they still have the indents?
David

Hey everyone. i just wanted to thank all who helped me in this project, I couldn't have done this without all of you. I finished mounting the emblems the other day, and I think they look great. I would like to send a special thanks to Craig(68tpls400) who sent me a hand traced template in the mail. Craig, that must have taken some time and effort and you have my sincere thanks. You are awesome. Here is a link to my photobucket page where you can see some before and after pics:
Thanks David. That's a nice convertible you have. It's neat to see the restoration pics. I would like to do a body off restoration on mine some day as well. BC sure looks beautiful too. Some day I'll make it out there.
