Our car is not as nice as most of the ones that will be there as our car does need a paint job, but we will be there thanks to our car friends. I just can not wait for this show and then on to Woodward!!!!!!!!
in addition to the people who contributed to help make this trip possible, we had a local garage where the owner donated 10 hrs. of his labor to replace pitman arm, power steering pump seal and rear axle bearings in the 95 conv van we bought to tow the trailer etc.
I can't beleive the people that came together to make this entire trip possible. Most whom I've never met or barely know! Truly amazing....
The trailer, it's an older trailer 1986 but is in excellent condition. We replaced all the running light bulbs inside and out, new bearings & seals etc. Oh yeah, 4 brand new radial tires and we had to round up 4 Ford F150 steel rims. Funny thing is we put Pontiac dog dishes on them!!! Funny thing is, I bought this trailer from my friend Mike, two years ago when we first moved here to FL. Never pulled it out and cleaned it up until three weeks ago! LOL We'll be pulling the trailer with this 95 3/4 ton 5.7 van w/109k:
I have made a last minute decision to go tomorrow morning. The wife had some surgery the other day so I needed to find something to do with the kids for the day anyway. It's gonna be a scorcher tomorrow though, so I do not know if they will make it through the whole day.
I am more going just to see how many point the car will score than anything else.
And to also get a new pair of sunglasses if the guy is there. I got a pair last year that I absolutely love and broke the arm about a month ago. I epoxied it back on, so it's time to get a new pair.
Hope to see some fellow members at some point.

Congratulations to Mary-Ann for taking 1st place in the 1st gen Firebird class with her beautiful 69.
I took 3rd. (Probably would of been a second if it was not for the power steering leak that coated the area a bit in the engine compartment and the wind shield being cracked.) It would have been really hard to beat Mary-Ann's car. It's REALLY nice.
I was shocked at how low the turnout was this year. There had to be less than half the amount of foot traffic this year verses last year. Same with the racers. Last year the staging lanes were filled completely with car for racing. This year, maybe a third as many cars.
There were still a large number of cars that showed up though. It looked like the people that did come were either racers, show'ers or vendors. Not much as far as just spectators.

Sorry, I was distracted by my kids and did not see who took second. They were very excited which was fun to see.
I failed on the taking tons of pictures task yesterday as the 7 and 9 year old kept me really busy running all around. I didn't get to stop and see very many cars in the show with the limited time I had. On top of that, my camera has been acting up lately and the newly ordered one has not yet arrive (Canon SD780 that takes HD video which would of been sweet for the races yesterday). Most of the ones I did take came out REALLY out of focus.
Hopefully Mary Ann, Joe or Joe's kids got some pics they can post.
Here are a couple that did come out. I snapped some of Mary Ann's right when I was leaving that did come out. You can see how empty the stands were late in the day yesterday.

Wow, finally home! We trully enjoyed the show this year and meeting a few of you from this site. I had the time of a lifetime to say the least. The best part of this show for us was having the track owner allow me to run our Bird down the track as the last run of the National Pontiac Championship for this event.
Little did I know my friend Mike and Smoke Signals editor Don Keefe spoke with the track owner and arrainged for me to run the last run on Sunday night! WOW, what an awesome thing to do. Although the official time boards were down, I was told the ole Bird ran a 13:22 on street tires with no burnout before the run.
From what I understand, the photos may appear in a future Smoke Signals edition. Thank you to all the kind folks who stopped by to wish us well and whom offered prayers knowing my vision situation.
From there we went on to the Woodward Dream Cruise! I will start a new thread regarding this entire trip as we just got home a few hours ago!
Sorry i missed everyone. Was busy work'n on my buddies 9 second 68 FB Saturday(replaced a bent valve) from Friday's trial run. Had i'd known how long between the rounds on Sunday, would have ventured over to the show side. Think spectator's where down cause more people brought thier cars. Alot of guys stepped up this year for the Q16 and Super Pro. There where over 200 in Pro. About 100 in Street. Not sure how many in Stock. Never seen that many swap meet venders before. The most show cars i've seen in 4 yrs. BTY, my daughter posted a new mph(113.6) even after lifting to keep from breaking out. Previous was 112.74. If she hadnt of lifted, would have been over 114(high 11's).
