I purchased the door panels, seat upholstery and rear trim at the same time from Classic Industries in parchment. I figured that way I'd have the best chance on getting them to match.
Just got around to opening the door panels and I find that they are a much brighter white than the seat or rear material -not even close.
I'm going to hassle Classic Industries about this - but I'm wondering if they could possibly have sent me the wrong panels - There isn't a pure white interior is there? - Has anyone else had this problem?.
i have had the same problem. it seems that each company uses their own color mix. some are dead on others are close. i went with dying the parts that come in black only. its works well.
I bought the entire interior and top boot for CI and everything matched perfectly. There is a difference between parchment and pearl parchment. The pearl is a much starker white offered in 68 compared to the darker white of the parchment offered in 67 & 69.
Sorry, misread your post. Color match on my panels is also good in my opinion. The panels seem to have a little more pearl in them, but the color/tint is good.
The rear seat covers match the front buckets exactly. The rear panels are also a good match.
I planned on cleaning and painting the trim I have, so can't comment on what CI offers there. My intention is to use the SEM products for all the plastic parts that need painting.
On a side note: Any suggestions on the best way to locate and cut the holes in the panels for the window crank and arm rests?
Thanks GP - I have a good match front/back and with rear panels.
I checked with CI and they get the door panels from a different vendor - maybe this is just a 1968 thing - but they are going to try to do something. I've already installed the rear panels and seat covers so I'm hoping they'll get me matching door panels.
Seems like we are near same place in our restorations...
