Is there supposed to be a rubber or plastic gasket between the trunk lid and the spoiler pedestals on a 69 T/A style spoiler?? Where can they be purchased if so? The ends of the spoiler come awfully close to contacting my rear quarters when closing the trunk and I'm not convinced that the thin pads under the ends are going to be enough protection for the paint!!

My experience with the GTO Judge spoiler (which is essentially the same) is that there is a gasket under the pedestals, but I will defer the expert opinion on that to someone who's got a T/A spoiler.
The outer edges of the spoiler also rest on the body with the trunk closed - no gap. If it doesn't, vibration and down force will cause it to eventually crack. It beats up the paint anyway, no matter what. It's best to localize it. I have seen guys add softer padding to the end plates, which they later remove for shows. (Some kind of urethane foam, if I remember correctly.)
there is not supposed to be a gasket on the pedistols.there is rubber pads that go on each end of the spoiler to protect the body.it is supposed to be close.i brought my spoiler up half an inch by adding duraglass to the pedistols on mine but that is not technically correct.
