He was probably running back to his cabin to get his Viagra when he broke his leg. Terry, come on dude, you need to be searching for FGF not ice skating on a cruise ship! Best of luck and a quick recovery!!
Reminds me of the movie "Terminator" which was on last night. The part after the accident in the police car when Arnold has to open his arm up to fix it.
Um!

Terry's always breaking something! I remember breathing a sigh of relief when he broke whatever finger it is he used for hitting the "CAPS LOCK" button ...
Noooo way!!! Is this serious? How did he get off the boat? He wasn't supposed to get back until this weekend right? My mom broke her knee on the last day of a cruise to Alaska getting out of the hot tub some years back. What a fiasco. You DO NOT want to get hurt while on a cruise.

I also beg to differ with this.
My parents were on a Caribbean cruise in April of 1997 when my father developed a bowel obstruction. They treated him on board and saw that surgery was going to be necessary. So they diverted the ship to a Guatemalan costal port, transported him and my mother by ambulance to Guatemala City, and put him up in the best hospital in the country (then the medical expenses started). Also on their dime, they put my mother up in a nice hotel and provided her with a handler/interpreter for the entire duration of my father’s hospital stay.

oh it was easy and cheap.. first they life flighted him to haiti on a helicopter.. then private jet to coasta rica.. then airplane to florida..
OK, not buying this now. Costa Rica is north of Panama and is the wrong direction from Florida if you started in Haiti. That's like going from Florida to Georgia via Texas.

I think he was going to catch a ride on a drug-runner plane flying under the radar from Columbia...

Only covers emergent care at the locality. With most policies, if you want to go back to the States, it's on your nickle.
My mom had the choice to airlift my dad to Houston. $10,000 out of pocket.

Sal, I think you're parents got very lucky. Sounds like they got quality treatment. Hard to believe things have changed that much in the last 12-13 years.
At least for Terry the drugs are cheaper down there. I'm sure he was in a lot of pain before they hooked him up with Dr. Meds.

not that much north of Panama, but west of, in almost totally opposite direction from Florida...from Haiti you are 1-1.5 hr or so by plane to Florida...from Costa Rica 2.5 +-
