Hello. It's been hard trying to find an "active" first gen forum, and this one seems to be pretty active.
I'm not new to cars, been playing with them since I was a kid. I've owned this 67 pickup for 13 years. I did a full home restoration on it in 2006. Not perfect, but it gets a lot of looks. I added power disc brakes, 350/700R4/3.73, Vintage Air A/C, relocated fuel tank to under the bed, and a few other things. It's a blast to drive, I put 3-4,000 miles per year on it.
Here's a link to the complete build if anyone is interested:
The bird is going to need a lot of help, but it was my dad's car for about 25 years. He did a home restoration on in in the late 80's and it looked great back then, but the motor blew in the early 90's and it has been neglected ever since then. It was originaly a South Carolina Car, was brought to New York right before my dad bought it, and I just brought it from NY to SC last month. My dad also gave me a 1970 400 out of a Bonneville. I want to back it with a TKO 600. It's going to be a long project, but I have my C-10 to play with!

Ignore the rubber chicken, these were pics for my truck forum. We have a "traveling chicken" that members would get, take pics with, then ship off to the next member and post their pics...
The truck was also part of my wedding almost 2 years ago

Welcome aboard! Nice rides, and congrats on the wedding!
You sure it's a 400..? It doesn't have a 400 hood, no Pontiacx emblem on the front bumper and no "hockey sticks" as well. Or front damage in the past repaired with other parts perhaps, considering the black hood on a white car..
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe. 1968 400 convertible (Scarlet) 1976 T/A - 455 LE (No Burt) 1976 T/A New baby, starting full restoration. 1968 350 - 4 speed 'vert - 400 clone (the Beast!) 1968 350 convertible - Wife's car now- 400 clone (Aleutian Blue) (Blue Angel) 2008 Durango - DD 2008 GXP - New one from NH is AWESOME! 2017 Durango Citadel - Modern is nice! HEMI is amazing! 1998 Silverado Z71 - Father-daughter project 1968 400 coupe - R/A clone (Blue Pearl) (sold) 1967 326 convertible - Sold 1980 T/A SE Bandit - Sold
Yes, sorry fellas, no, that car is not a "firebird 400".
I have a 1970 Pontiac 400 sitting in it (in the pics.) I hope to add the hood and emblems to make it somewhat of a clone. My pickup is nowhere near stock or factory and it doesn't bother me a bit. I want the bird to be a fun car. If anyone asks I won't mind saying "Nope, it's not a 400 car, but it has one in it"
68tpls400: When I signed up, next to username I put "1967 Firebird & C-10" so I thought that would be my visible username. Jesse James is my first and middle name. No, if she was my chick, I would have never done that to her, she's a sweet hottie.
On my favorite truck forum, 67-72chevytrucks.com, we have a rather large SC/NC group, with quite a few of us in or near Greenville. We try to get together a couple times a year. However, my bird won't be roadworthy for at least 2-3 years. I "redid" my truck in under a year, but it had NOWHERE near the rust this baby has, plus, it was already running.
