You forgot to put a warning in the thread title. I can see it now, there will be at least one thin skinned person getting upset. Otherwise, I love it! Funny, true & incredibly sad all at the same time!!!

Being an independant I watch with dismay as both sides jar back and forth. But what bothers me is the Republican attitude that if you're not a conservative republican you're not an American. That's what really bothers me.
I'm outta here now for awhile. You guys are too hateful, spiteful and just plain mean for me to hang around anymore.
I'll chime in on car related stuff but that's it.
Wanting a Custom fit in an off the rack world.
I don't have time for a job, I just need the money.
Way back when, we played jokes on each other at the fire station. Like filling someones(usely an a-hole) boots with water. They'd find out when put'n them on for a call. The say'n was; F'm if he cant take a joke.
What i've come to realize, theres to kinds of dem's. Regular, and liberal. Lib's are like talking to a parrot.
Gordon, you can dish it out as good as we can, take it with a grain of salt. And remember conservatism does not always equate to "republican" as far as I'm concerned there is plenty of blame to go around both parties the last 15-20 years or so. We need to clean house in D.C., that I think we can all agree on.
I enjoy reading your posts and responses, you're very knowledgeable...I hope you hang in.
Wouter, these old eyes can't read the fine print...

Exactly what's wrong in this country. People have become so thin skinned it's disgusting. You have to tip toe around everyone's tender feelings because someone is always getting upset. Well boo hoo, grow some friggen balls, thicker skin and learn to take some jabs! This country has turned into the biggest bunch of panzy a$$es no wonder a Mosque is being built near ground zero. Unreal...
Oh by the way I do feel that the DEM-REP parties stop working in this country 30 years ago. If this country was a business which it is I'd fire everyone above a janitor's position at the white house. Put the Janitor in charge and see what happens.

Ross Perot would have done well!
why I voted for him....but to no avail, other than putting Willy in charge!
and one of the reasons I`m looking at Panama in the future, their president IS a businessman! Runs the country more like a business....And American eductated.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricardo_Martinelli
I don't get offended by party bashing because I am no longer a member of either. After the last election and now with everything that has transpired in my own life, I have now joined the majority in this country and no longer care what happens politically or otherwise. I've narrowed my "caring" down to my wife and kids and to hell with everything else.
I can careless who runs for office, who wins or who looses. I worked fulltime for the last 3 years of highschool in a lumber mill (school during the day, 2nd shift mon-fri), owned my own business for 10 years after HS, worked retail/marketing for 10, construction project manager for 5 years.
Married at the age of 18 and had no health ins. for our first two kids, paid for their births and medical needs out of pocket for the 10 years we owned our own business. Never in my 42 years of existence have I asked the gov. for anything until last year. Asked for a 2% reduction in our intrest rate so we could keep our home. Turned down and the only reason to date from Wells Fargo and Freddy Mac is "had you fallen into a minority status, there would have been more options available to you".
Therefore, I no longer give two flying $hits about anything! So let the politcal mockings roll, I take pleasure in all of them equally! On a side note, only one elected politician responded to my S.O.S, ironically he is a Dem. I made it clear to Senator Bill Nelson when he phoned me last summer while we were at the Woodward Dream Cruise that I was a lifelong Republican and the mere fact that he personally responded to me request for help, would be the ONLY reason I will vote ever again will be to pull the lever for him.
Although ultimately his office was unable to help, I will keep my promise and he will be the only person I vote for. Other than that, I will never vote again the rest of my life. In saying so, I will also no longer complain about who is in office as I have always said that a person who does not vote has no right to complain. I will adhere by my own words, until then, I will continue to slam the turd in the Oval Office every chance I get!
Joe , I totally understand...little over 40 yrs ago I graduated in Sweden as a construction engineer (close to architect)...3 mo before my graduation the scenario we`ve last year happened...Swedish Govt decided they needed more money , slapped a 25% tax on new construction in febr 1967.....you all can easily figure out (they couldnt!) what happened...construction came to a halt...my step dad whom I was about to start working with closed his office in a bankruptcy in July...no jobs in sight, luckily for me I had during college driven a cab ,so I could continue...a year later I decided that I did not get my degree in engineering to drive a cab....decided to come over here where my dad was...I moved across the Atlantic....two more times, became a lic Texas Architect in 72, in 88 a US citizen ...and now....? it seems it was all for nothing, Sweden is now going the other direction...here we`re doing what Sweden did 40 yrs ago...I dont have another 40 yrs to wait for recuperation...I`ve tossed in my towel too...as soon as I retire (already should have as Im 67) in 2,3 yrs I hope , I am contemplating leaving ,for greener pastures...Panama! where I can afford to live on my soc sec which I cannot here. talked to a Tucsonite who lives there since 6 yrs..he says living there costs him what his utilities cost in Tucson...
I dont like moving, done it too many times ,but sometimes you do what you have to...cant afford to stay here , as a retiree...living costs too much.
