Anyone else having problems with the forums loading lately? Last few days have been really bad. In 10 years of using this site I have never had these problems. When I attempt to enter the forum section the screen basically locks up and or takes FOREVER to load, then each page thereafter is the same way.

The site is disconnecting and then reestablishes itself once in a while often when the system is loaded. Perhaps the many pic uploads today hammered her.

Ok, I was worried it was my PC as our home PC died and I have been using my Son's laptop hooked up to a large LCD TV and I was worried something was wrong with his laptop. Good to know it's not the PC then...
As I came back mon night from Cannon Bird Run...I tried to get on...it was slow, very slow...decided to wait until yesterday, it was still slow, and many times timed out when trying to load pictures... I contacted Geoff last night , got this from him today

I just answered him, that it still seems slow...maybe FGF access goes thru this Verizon cable??...I have no problems w other sites I tried, like PY, Swedish News, Panama Blogs
Earlier this morning, it was working OK, but now it's a total bear again.
Sometimes three, four minutes to load a page. Sometimes it just times out...
And for me, just this site. Other sites work fine.
I think some fg 'Maro guys might have snuck in here...

Ok, makes me feel a bit better knowing it's not this pc. Not sure what it is, but it just took me several attempts to keep loading the site before it finally loaded...
Here I am thinking it was Safari giving me problems. Been slow for at least a week. Reminds me of dial up... click a link and come back 5 minutes later.

The site's very slow for me tonight, my laptop's old and I thought it was having a problem so I was complaining to my husband. He just told me to get a new one. Thanks! I just wish talking him into that 67 'vert was that easy.
Lets see if some database routines work. May need to contact the host provider as may be an issue with the server or another hosted site sharing server hogging the server load. Let me know.
There has not been any database errors until 8/2 which was a timeout to the database server which is consistent with what you are describing and appears to be when it started. May have corrupted part of the data.
