I'm having fun building the car but I wish I had more done or had more money. LOL Either would work for me. Finished target date is a few years off from now. Just a lack of funds is the main reason. Kids are expensive.
The subframe is mounted, and I started installing more of the ss gas and brake lines. A little trial fit of one of the tires and rims from my last car. I think the tires might a be a little to wide to fit correctly.
The fuel line and brake line that mount on the subframe go in between the engine brackets and the frame. The rear lower engine mount bracket holes also use the lower ontrol arm bolt. You can either run the bolt from the front so it's pointing to the back of the car or run it from the back to the front but then you have to have your engine mount brackets on at the same time. The main fuel line will bolt onto the sub frame in three spots. I found it easier to mount it onto the sub frame before I bolted it up.

I totally agree....building on the car for me was a "necessity" to get what I wanted to drive...my enjoyment is cruising it.
but everyone is different , and i`m glad we are...it would be pretty boring if we were all alike!
Spring is here, summer will be over soon... KEEP GOING!
You gotta move quick up here in MN.

Yea, I went a little overboard on the suspension. I figured I only wanted to do it once. The sad part is I could have easily spent thousands more without a problem. Besides not having the money part. I'll take a better pic with the motor uncovered.
Wow!! I haven't posted any updates in a while. I took most of the summer off from working on the car and did some side jobs. I did get a chance to install my: Ceramic coated long branch manifolds Install my stainless steel Pypes exhaust Sub frame connectors New core support Newer style steering gear box All new front steering components. I also bought a new gas tank, sending unit, front and back glass. Here are some shots of the front end progress.
here are the sub frame connectore and what you can see of the exhaust. Two shots of the exhaust manifolds.

LOL I hope sometime next year. I hope to get a lot done over the winter. I think I will be ready to do the windows in a few weeks. Do you know any one who can help??
If pizza is involved, I'd be happy to. I might have to bring my sunglasses though. Everything looks pretty shiny over there!

Thanks and No, I returned it last year. Not that I plan on doing another car any time real soon but those things are a life saver. I can't imagine doing the bottom of a car any other way.

I can order up a pizza. I still need to figure out a few things besides the paint. I need to install some trim studs, figure out how the back window sits in the channel with out sliding down(plastic blocks) and figure out what holds the front glass from sliding down. It's been a while since I took it all apart. I know I have a lot of holes to drill along the upper cowl after replacing the dash.
You can use just about anything to create a stop for the glass. Once you place the bead sealer and set the glass on it, it takes a miracle to move it. You won't have any problems if two people are working it together.

I agree. I was all worried about installing the glass. If you can do all the work you have the glass will be a breeze. My 17yo and I did the windshield in 1/2 hour and I put the rear glass in alone, although it would have been a lot easier with two people. The stops are nothing more than a bent piece of sheet metal with a rubber coating on the part that touches the glass.
I think the front glass has some brackets that keep it from sliding down. Not sure. I was worried about the back window because the one I took out had slid down and was resting on the tulip panel.
If you are using the 3M butyl(s) that comes in a strip, they include the two little 3/16"x1" rubber stops that sit in each corner of the windsheild/back glass when installing. the little ruber stops simply lay in the glass channel and hold the glass up off the bottom of the channel by 3/16".
If you do use the 3M strip adhesive be sure it's for your specific installation as you have to be sure it's the correct thickness, otherwise your moulding may not rest against the glass as they should...
Thanks Joe. It is the correct butyl roll. I did not notice if they included the blocks. I will have to check again.
They are usually in the center of the circle roll.

The wheels look a lot better in person IMHO. I'm still going for some what of a factory look. I already tried out the PMD center caps and I can make them work. Then I will order up some black center lugnuts.

Awesome. Take her for a ride. I remember when my car was in this stage. Drove it over to my buddies place wearing sky goggles. The looks on the kids faces was priceless. Leave the mufflers off!

Finsished some more work on the dash and interior panels. Everything is in DP90 primer. Will post pictures with the low gloss black paint but it does not look a lot different.
