I'm looking at a complete power window set up now and thinking of converting my bird to power windows. From what cars/years will be compatible for a 68 bird convertible? Will A body set ups work for me and if so what parts will or will not work in a bird or will the whole thing just bolt in? I am looking at one from a 69 or 70 olds delta 88 or 98 convertible? If not what will work for me.As long as there are slight to no mods that is o.k. It is o.k. if they are not"correct" for my bird as well. Thanks for any info!

They are not going to work, but the motors would be interchangeable. The drive gears are different. Also, I've heard the door glass is scalloped on the bottom to clear the motors.
There are conversion kits for about $600 if you really want power windows.
i have even looked at aftermarket add on gadgets for this. they are not that expensive, but require som fabrication.
i am not a rich man, nor do i purchase vehicles which drop much in value, but at one time i aquired a D21 pickup, 86.5 model. this thing had power windows, a/c, a/t, power mirrors, v6, ext cab, 3 way driver's seat... blah blah. it even had 2 fuelgauges... 1 for E-F and one for 1/4 - 0. i loved it. 275,0000 miles and interference motor timing belt problem. (oops to the seller)
non-power is lame. nyahhh.
i am lazy.
there are conversion kits for much less. esp if you just do the front 2.
I'm not lazy, just figured they were really cheap and out of a 69' model GM so why not.I figured motors would be the same but was worried about the gears. As for windows,i never thought of them and now that you mention it John,it makes sense.I always wondered why sometimes i would find "scalloped windows" out and about on my travels.Yes Terry, old cars are fun for their(most part) lack of creature comforts, probably why they are a pleasure to work on compared to new vehicles. Thanks guys, it was just a thought.
