I use turtle wax chrome polish only because I bought it years ago and still have half a bottle. I also have another tube in the bird trunk kit (black and gold) but can't recall the name...They all work pretty good.

I always apply a coat of wax after to seal the chrome.

Looks like its time to find some of this stuff. I have been using zymol and meguires #7 show car glaze. The number 7 is very nice product, but does not last too long. I try to seal it with the zymol wax.

Dave I too have noticed the Coopers are not wearing! They get great traction though. I would like to get rid of the 70's and put 60's on. I am having a hard time with tossing brand new tires though. They are prob the only thing I used from the previous owner.

Our LeMans had a BRAND NEW set of white letters tires on it when we bought it last Jan. On the way home from AL with the LeMans I called and ordered a set of Cooper red lines from Diamondback. Once they arrived I pulled those white letters off and tossed em! LOL Mt friend Mike gladly took them out of the trash pile, blacked out the white letters and they now reside on his 62 Pontiac wagon! LOL

There are other Zaino products for non-clear coat cars. I think you use either Z3 or Z5 instead of Z2.

2012 Mustang Boss 302 #1918, Competition Orange. FGF replacement
2006 Mustang V6 Pony, Vista Blue. Factory ordered.
2019 BMW X3 (Titled to the wife, but I'm always driving it for her. So I'm claiming it)
Old projects, gone but not forgotten:
1967 FB 400, original CA car. After 22 years of work, trashed by the guy who was supposed to paint it. I had to sell it.

gulp, I only have 4-5 years to go before I'm at that crossroad.

I told my kids they might each get to drive my fgf's when they're 30 or I'm back in diapers, whichever comes first. smile

My twin girls finish college this year and currently have their own wheels and roof over there head. With this new found freedom they will continue to live away from home or come back with a new respect for our roof and mum's home cooking. Come to think about it ... I should take off to Vegas for 6 months and see if I miss Mum's cookin!

One being 19, should have had hers 3 years ago, but mum drives her around faithfully. I tell her to NOT taxi her so much, she will get her licence finished! I even said I would by her a car.

The other is 17, and she may have hers this spring. Kid wants a VW camper van. I told her I don't want to be wrenching on it every weekend. This one was born 40 years too late, hippy at heart!

Craig, I'll be on the wrong side of the grass when they get to drive the 4 speed bird!

Likely won't get any polishing done for a week or so, need to wash the car to get the Meguires off, Use some intensive polish to smooth it out a bit, then wash again then I will go for it. May as well get the base purrfect before I drop all that elbow grease in to it!

My oldest son 19 was home on liberty from the Navy last November. He is a car guy too and wanted to drive the Firebird. We live 1/2 mile from the pavemen so he lets the car idle down the dirt road to "not get it dirty". As soon as we hit the pavement he runs it through the gears at a modest pace an then when he gets into 4th gear he puts it to the floor. I am sitting in the passengerr seat sayin "John.....John.....JOHN!....There is only 60 miles on this motor! He laughed. I hid the keys when we got home.

Both of my sons got licenses almost as soon as they turned 16. They both already had a pickup when they got the license. We live out in the country and they wanted to be able to get to town. Seems strange the first time you see them drive away alone. Then you remember you can send them to the parts store for ya and its all good!

I had my very own 'first car' when I was 14. Only got to drive it up and down the driveway for a year until I received my learner's permit.

Gave me lots of time to learn bodywork and painting tho.

My car has no clear coat. Zaino makes it look like it's a mile deep, even though it is a non-metallic single stage.

I wonder if it would help my LeMans as the majority of the paint is original, therefore as dull as can be!

My paint really sucks. I know it won't cure all of the problems, but any chance that it could make them worst?

Using Bjorns sequence, it WILL help. You just need to claybar off the oxidation. I had an old Triumph Trident, there was so much oxidation that the tank was almost white. I cut polished it and went thru the polishing process. D@mned near looked like new!

I have been using this stuff for years. It is the best I have ever used. The only problem I have is I use to much. It goes on so thin it is had to tell.
My car hasn't been washed with water for over two years. I just wipe it down with their detail spray.
This stuff lasts a very long time.
As far as chrome polish, use this stuff on your chrome also, works great.
If you don't like the shiny tire stuff that everyone else sells. Try the Zanio tire stuff. The best. It don't turn the tires brown like the others.
When you get your stuff, it comes with instructions, or go to the web site it has all the info on the different products.

One other thing.
If you have a group of guys that want to know how to use this stuff. They have what they call Zanio Day. Send Sal an e-mail asking about this. I did this for a BBQ we had with the Nova group I am with also.
