Anyone know the cheapest place to buy a knockoff of this cam? Crane used to copy it, but it doesn't show up in their online catalog anymore.

You can buy it for a hundred bucks from Summit. It's their catalog number CRN-968781. (CRN, is Crane ...)

Melling has a copy, SPC-7 and also has a cam kit. I think it should be pretty cheap, at least worth checking.

Another option is the K2801 cam from Summit which has similar specs, little more lift and would include lifters for the same price as the crane model, worth looking at.

I believe you can get that Melling cam kit mentioned above at Autozone or most other large chain auto parts stores for around $100. Check autozone.com for an exact price.

I used the Summit 2801 cam/ lifters and also their roller timing set. Very, very pleased with this cam!

I looked at the Summit 2801. It's nice because you get more lift, but I was concerned that the narrower LSA would be too lumpy, require a high idle setting (800+ rpm), and be marginal for use with power brakes (less than 14 inches vacuum).

We have a stock "P" cam with a new set of lifters for $60. If all you want is vacuum for power brakes, this cam's got your number.

Summit 2801 in my 400 idles like butter in drive at 750 RPMs and I get 20" of vacuum. Not lumpy at all IMO.
