Anybody here a knee doctor... or a knee pain sufferer? Hurts to move it in any direction. Majority of the pain is in the front on the inside. Anybody got any ideas? When I go to the doctor nothing ever gets fixed.
I went to a local chiropractor about a year ago for my back, when he was done adjusting my back he ask if any thing else was bothering me. I told him my knee had been bothering me for about 3 weeks but there was probably nothing he could do. He said let me take a look at it. So he had his assistant come out with some magnets put them on my knee, poke and prodded a little, then straightened my leg out and gave it a twist. From that moment on my knee has not bothered me. I couldn't believe it! So you might try a chiropractor
How long have you had it? How old are you? How much do you weigh (if it is more the 400lbs skip all next questions!) is the knee swollen? Was there any trauma? Does it ever "lock" and in what position? What hurts more; walking UP or DOWN the stairs? Only one knee? You play sports? How did it start: slowly or all of a sudden?

And I'm still waiting for that PDF!

Seriously tho, mine have been bad the last few months, as are my shoulder joints..sharp pains sometimes....must be arthritis setting in finally after too many motorcycle adventures...
I have not the faintest idea what to do about it yet either...
My nemisis is my low back. Some days I can't even stand up straight. If I lift anything over 20 pounds I'm a basket case for two weeks. Shoveling snow is impossible.
Oh well, guess I'll go lay on the couch some more!

I'm with on the whole back thing. Been dealing with 5 ruptured discs since the accident. May be in for a fusion in March. Will know for sure soon.
Creekbob, good luck with your knee issues. Tammy has had both full knee replacements in the past 24 months. She still has a staph(s) infection in the one leg and it's been over a year since the surgery. So she says whatever you do, don't do surgery!
Yeah no kidding. My wife is supposed to have both hip joints replaced, they have postponed her surgery multiple times now due to the staph infection. She has no choice as she is bone on bone due to JRA since childhood.
Fell asleep on the couch and was awoken by severe pain in my big toe. Felt like some drove 50 nails in my foot all at one time. Guess it's a pinched nerve. At least keeps me entertained. PD all day and night can be so boring!

If you never had a fracture, you're a bit young to have arthrosis / arthritis. If you don't have fever and the knee is not red, an infection is not likely. What remains is number of laesions, such as your meniscus, your crossbands, retro-patellair chondropathia, etc.
I would go to the dr. Do a fysical examination, perhaps an X-ray. MRI only if he suspects something specific.
I'll get to the doc one of these days. Woke up this morning and it was a little better, but being on my feet for 4 hours this morning has made it worse than yesterday. Thanks Wouter!

The doctor is doing some tests so it might be that. I stuck my foot in the cat and dog's mouth. They did not eat it! They did pass out from foot taste though.

I'm going to see a Dr within the next few days. I'm going to make an appointment tomorrow. I have a high pain tolerance, but this is unbearable. I'm constantly climbing inside machinery and need to have full movement in my knees. Hopefully waiting this long hasn't caused any irreparable damage.
My Aunt used to live in Hamilton (Canada) and my parents would always stop on the way home and but a bottle of those 222's. Those things will make you feel good not matter what's wrong with you! LOL
Having been through an ACL reconstruction and a Meniscectomy, I feel your pain. After I damaged my knee it would literally lock in place sometimes and was unstable. I had a menicus tear that was causing the pain and locking up, the stability issues were from the ACL tear. It was definitely worth getting it all taken care of, much better after surgery!
My GUESS is that you have some cartilage that needs removed. Usually they do that with arthroscopic surgery and you will be down for couple of weeks or so. Good luck and hope the doc gets you fixed up.

I noticed that when I was in Chicago for 6 months. Why do you suppose 222's (codeine) pills are not available state side?
You guys are missing quite a trip!

I take celebrex every day for arthritis pain. That stuff is a godsend for me. If I knew I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself! I had the "scope" 18 months ago. I worked wonders for my right knee. It was bone on bone, with some bone spurs and torn cartalidge. This whole over 50 thing is overrated!
When I first injured my knee, it quickly got to a point where I could barely walk. The Dr. shot the area with steriods which gave immediate relief. I went through months of physical therapy for months. This was years ago.
It was better for a while, but it's never been the same. Since I've gotten older it grinds more.
Before my wife had both of her knees replaced, they would grind so loud when she walked. When they did the surgery she was only 40 y/o and they said she had the knees of an 80 y/o women. She said when she was a little girl she would go to bed every night and cry until she fell asleep. She was still doing that until 2 years ago when she had them replaced. Amazing what can be done nowadays.
Hopefully creekbob won't need any surgery. Maybe some time off the knee and or maybe some PT and some meds.
