here is my wish list, I am starting to restore so I am hoping you guys have some of these for my '68 firebird V8 400 6.6L, auto trans.

1. Carb/intake setup
2. a reliable distributor
3. headers
4. timing chain
5. new brake setup
6. water pump
7. black center console
8. black dash console and trim for radio, heat box...etc
9. 400 hood
10.Rally II's (would prefer 15x7)
11. Front fender inner wheel wells

might have to edit this to add or take away but I believe this is a good start. Help me out gents!

Looks like they are making the console and dash parts(items 7 and 8) as repops. Originals would have burlwood for 1968.

Don't buy a used timing chain, waterpump, or headers. I have consoles...various condition, various prices.

Yellowbird, are they the original consoles or repos? I would like to change mine from the burlwood to the black

couldn't I just sand blast a set of older headers and have them reconditioned?

Welcome to the site I am a fairly new member myself but in the short time I have been here I have had some great advice and help finding parts, everyone seems to be willing to help if they can. If you go back about 5 pages in the parts for sale forum I think you will find your 400 hood in Illinois. Good luck Stephen

They are original consoles. All '68 consoles have burlwood top plates. You could remove the veneer and finish in a black material if you want a monochrome look.

Headers warp and headers rust and headers sometimes don't fit well. Generally, if they have been pulled, they are not worth reconditioning.

maybe I will just recondition the ones I have on there now. I will have to get a better look at them and see if it is possible
