I purchased a 65 Pontiac donor car for my wagon project. Only trouble is the last owner never got original title because they were going to part it out.
I need title to get it across the border. How can I get the title now?
Any help would be appreciated...

Seriously, be prepared for a bureaucratic nightmare. I have registerd vehicles in 4 other states since I left there and there is probably no way they are going to issue a title without inspecting the vehicle in person.
And pray that there is no bank lien on it, 'cause then you will have to chase down the bank and get THAT cleared first.

Did a google search for: claim a car abandoned in California
It looks like a doable possibility if you really need to get title. Basically there is a long form you need to go get and fill out to get a list of past owners registered on the car, and mail out something out to them, and, and when they don't reply, I think I read after 30 days, you get title to the car.
But I'm 99% sure it's more complicated that google answers. lol.
What about having it titled in another state first, then trying to get it across the border? In other words, get it titled in CA, (or another state where its easier to get a title with a bill of sale), then turn around and use that documentation to get it to Oh Canada?...
a million illegals sneak or pass through our borders every day but try and get a beat up old 65 pontiac wagon through... hold up guns blazing..what cha doing there boy...... welcome to America!

Now that's good!!! Some messed up business right there.... LOL
Good luck! I had to return a 1976 Transam 50th Aniversary Pontiac Edition because the guy I bought the car from had bought the car from California with no title(long story). We worked it for 7 months with no prevail.
Well I finally got my 68 Pontiac wagon home this week! Only took 8 months ...
Without Pjay's (pjt5959) help, it never would have happened. Thanks a lot dude, I owe you more than you can imagine. He has vaays of getting yuu a car title!
Little tired right now but I will put together a reader's digest version of what happened these last 8 months over the next few days.
I have one little tidbit though...the car sheet metal is actually better than I could imagine. I'm in snow/salt country here. This car has less rust underneath it than a 6 month year old Alberta Chevy. It's a fricken time capsule!
The inside of the car is full of junk...which is real cool! It's like a treasure hunt. I opened the passenger door for the first time today and the first part I saw on the floor was a Kick down switch for a TH400! Just what I needed for my 68 FB. Found looks of parts that were peeled off the original engine. This car was purchased as a roller /w transmission so the stuff I find in the car is just a bonus.
Then I start digging in the back and I start finding 68 Firebird parts! Yaaaahaaaa! Too funny! I'm going to layout all the stuff I dug out and take pictures so you guys can have a look.
You will recall that I am restoring my Dad's old Pontiac wagon I had stored in a field for 20+ years. The rust is bad from the frame up about 10". The gas tank fell thru the fender onto the ground it was so rusty.
However, the car only has 112,000 miles so the interior is in pretty good shape. My Dad's car along with this donor car is an excellent pair to make one great restoration.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
