Lots of "I know more than you do! Nannanannabooboo" stuff there, too. Sometimes, threads are locked or deleted if the "favorites" are disagreed with. I go there often, but am not really "welcome" by the "powers that be" because I don't "sell" the right products. I simply tell what I know to be true. Sales people HATE that. (:-
Performance Years, however, is an excellent source for Pontiac restoration pieces. Between them and Ames Performace Engineering, the only two we deal with. They don't sell Chevy parts like the others.
I don't disagree with that statement. However, most of them have no idea what a "lib" is. When standing outside the right field line, in foul territory, EVERYTHING is to the "left". Argh! Argh! Humor...

I ALWAYS make jokes. Sometimes, they're even very funny... Sometimes, people take themselves too seriously to notice the humor or irony. The ONLY things I take really seriously are my kids' welfare and my engines. Aside from that, LET'S PARTY!!
Colorado68,
No, actually. At least not nearly as much as self-righteous right-wing nutjobs... And there IS a difference between a "liberal" and a socialist, just like there is between a "conservative" and a fasist. Not everyone "fits neatly" into a category. Those that can't grasp that are pretty weak-minded, IMO.
I like PY, there is just alot more people there so you get the good and the bad. If its Firebird specific info, FGF is the place, if its any other Pontiac or for performance info, PY is the place. It has alot of knowledgeable people like MrPbody, and just like him most of them are just happy to pass along what they have learned.

and if you like arguing , about anything, visit PYs Clubhouse! LOL
The "Clubhouse" is more of a right-wing "hang out" where anyone with a different view is beaten violently about the head and shoulders. Those guys are still arguing over Obama's "citizenship". Most of them need "a life"....

Jim, remember I`m one of those "right wingers"...lol...but its not the only thing argued....(notice i`m arguing with you! lol) I get alot of arguments from the left there (agreed there are less lefters than righters there), by people I never addressed, but thats ok....
I also get alot of grief for not checking snopes on everything...like the Mikkelsens are almighty! lol....
If you STILL believe the president isn't a citizen, or that corporate rule should be the law, I'd seriously question your "grip" on reality. You haven't, at least since the election was over. Some folks simply never understand when it's time to "move on".
I'm neither a "lefty" OR a "rightie" (yes, we DO exist). But I find the right-wing rhetoric to be far more dangerous and wearisome. Poor ignorant folks "out there" actually believe Rush is "news", not the sensationalist "entertainment" it really is. There are also those that believe Fox News is objetive. I haven't heard anyone "defend" MSNBC like I have Fox. I don't watch either. Occasionally, Fox, when I need a laugh. It's like watching a commercial for the Republican Party. MSNBC just seems to be out of "synch" with the world. So is Fox, but at least it's funny! CNN isn't perfect, but much more objective than the others. But I HATE that Spitzer guy. His attitude more than anything else.
I'm NOT arguing here. I'm stating my position. It isn't one of the "cookie cutter" positions "they" would have you believe are the ONLY ones.

Jim, re the president not being a citizen...I dont believe one way or the other...I think it should be laid to rest...by that I mean ,it should be checked, and if not checked,at least be a point where the law is changed so that what is suspected by some in this case cannot happen in the future.
as far as "leftie vs rightie" , I`m now leaning right....about as right as I once leaned left, yes sometimes you can get an eye opener, I did.
re News, best way to get the news is look at several sources, make your own 'opinion'...I watch Fox, never see or listen to Rush, nor the "joke news" (some believe them to be real too), I do watch CNN some , read MSNBC and listen to NPR (drives me crazy most of the time), but i get news from all directions, I also daily read Swedish News, which has its own take on US and world news....
What bothers me about the whole "born here" question, is why is it all so secret, secret? If he is indeed a citizen, why didn't the Government take out a full page ad in all the major newspapers showing his birth certificate? If some items needed to be hidden or whited out, so be it, but what's the big deal.
That in itself is why I don't trust the guy.

Sorry if I pushed this the "wrong" direction. It wasn't my intent to stir it all up. During the election, Pres. Bush (2) said himself, "There's nothing to it" regarding the citizenship "question". John McCain re-iterated that. I'm with Bjorn, let it lie... My point was simply that these guys are like a pitbull with a bone.
I for one will be thrilled when the turd is gone. Hopefully in 2012 if all goes well. Every time that worthless POS is on the TV, it's a dam good thing I don't have a gun within arms reach. Who was it that Elvis used to shoot on TV? I feel the same way about the turd. Talk about the biggest mistake this country has EVER made since it's very begining!
I'm sure Obama's credentials were thoroughly checked prior to the election. Regardless, enough already!

Earlybird, why are you so violently opposed to Obama? What hardship has he caused you/your family? Just curious...
BTW: I"m right handed, usually.

I, like the majority of Americans, lie in the middle. Middle doesn't sell newspapers or boost ratings. The farther left or right one is, and the more vocal one is, the more press one is going to get. I'm not suprised more people haven't figured out that the main goal of the two parties is to maintain the status quo. It seems to me the media has become a tool to help them. I guess editorializing is more profitable than reporting the facts. Question's like Obama's citizenship serve as a great distraction. When either side gets a lot of headlines about the social issue du jour, I like to take a good hard look at what isn't getting covered. Haven't you ever noticed when ever the media starts covering a politician's rants, important issues we should be following just sort of disappear? Unfortunately we have a short attention span in this country. Not many American's could cite how many soldiers we have lost in the past month. I'm sad to say I'm one of them.
This why I have to quit reading political posts...it's too depressing. Can't be go back to the days of a good chin spoiler argument.
I have seen so little verifiable proof from Obama on who he really is and virtually no solid objective judicial or scholarly interpretation of the Constitution’s intended definition of a "natural born citizen" I cannot say whether he is "legal" or not. All the information he has spent millions to keep us from seeing should just be part of a normal background check in a situation like this but anyone who asks is simply called a “birther nut” and the mystery lives on. Many capitulate and simply avoid being attacked by simply saying, "forget about it, let's move on".
Just knowing the types of hideous people he has been close to throughout life, makes one wonder what he is hiding.
Earlybird, why are you so violently opposed to Obama? What hardship has he caused you/your family? Just curious...
Have you watched, read and or listened to the news at all over the past couple of years? LOL
In addition, I do have a personal situation that was directly impacted by this POS and his admin. We lost our home under his "making home affordable" plan. Under the "Obama plan" as the lady from Freddy Mac called it, and I quote "had you fallen into a minority status, there would have been more options made available to you". Now you tell me I shouldn't be pissed off?
The only thing I asked for was a 2% drop in interest rate and after 22 MONTHS I was given the above reason for my denial. Then our house went on the market for 7 months and sold for 67k when we could have paid back the 152k plus 4.75% interest. But no, we didn't "fall into a minority status" so there was nothing they could do to help us.
I can only hope that POS chokes on a piece of watermelon and dies a violent death! Total POS IMO!
I'll apologize now to the Obama lovers for my honest feelings towards this POS. I am about as far as one can be from being politically correct. Basically because I don't give a $hit about anyone's feelings anymore. I've given up on pretty much everything and everyone at this point...
"Many capitulate and simply avoid being attacked by simply saying, "forget about it, let's move on"."
I'm not capitulating, or defending. Its not my battle. I just don't care. I have to believe that he satisfied the requirements prior to the election. At this point, what repercussions would there be? Would he be kicked out of office? Why doesn't the gov't agency in charge of these verifications step forward? ...or have they alraedy and "we" refuse to accept the evidence? It IS curious/suspicious that he hasn't put this to bed. I guess he has bigger issues...like what dog to buy for his kids.
I am NOT an Obama supporter. I voted for McCain...and would again. BUT, I don't think Obama is the anti-Christ. I don't like him. I don't hate him. I certainly don't want to draw my weapon and shoot the TV.
(I vote for SPELL CHECK on this sight!!)
I'm a hobbyist. Not a professional. Don't be hatin'!
There, my above posts have been spell checked and corrected. LOL That is one of my pet peeves as well and then I go and make some horrendous spelling/grammar mistakes myself!
Not too many people know this, but in Aug 09 I was asked to go before Congress and tell my story regarding the situation with our home etc.
One phone call from Senator Bill Nelson HIMSELF (whom I hung up due to the fact that I thought it was a prank by one of my friends. Actually it was his assistant whom I hung up the first time, then they called back and I realized it was for real), and that whole idea went out the window as I did NOT hold back my feelings on the topic and apearently after that conversation on the phone it was decided that I should not tell my story afterall.
"Then our house went on the market for 7 months and sold for 67k when we could have paid back the 152k plus 4.75% interest..."
If you owed $152K, and was only worth $67K, it sounds like you came out way ahead. Thats probably why you couldn't refinance...I don't know. You walked away from an $85k loss. Were you 22 months in arrears? Were there no alternatives? What would it have taken to save the house?
...and I don't think Obama has anything to do with you not being a minority. Would it have been different under Bush? Were the rules different?
Look, I understand your bitterness. It seems you've been dealt a losing hand as of late. All due respect, I just don't think Obama is to blame.

Does anyone here think that Obama, Senators or Representatives actually write the laws/budgets that they debate and vote on?
Saying Obama is responsible for anyone's personal situation is like saying Hitler was solely responsible for WWII (before anyone flames me; I despise Hilter.) I would be more pissed off at the law makers for the legislation they put before Obama than Obama for signing it.
Personally I had a pretty good year last year, but I'm not going to give Obama credit just because he was the sitting president.
I think we rather point the finger at an individual rather than an institution because its an easier to identify target.
EarlyBird I feel for you in your situation. Here's why I am angry at Obama as he relates to your situation. He promised he was going to get to the bottom of the financial crisis and hold those responsible accountable. Never happened, a little smoke and mirrors, hey look over here and suddenly we have moved on and have forgotten to hold those responsible accountable unless I'm missing something.
All this reminds me I'd better ask my father where my birth certificate is.
I know we are going to see Atlas Shrugged next week after it hits the theaters. We are close to living the Ayn Rand novel, 50+ years after it was written. Hope they follow the book.

That's part of the problem, too. Look at that "free" health care law. Over 1200 pages of non sense legal junk. How many of them actually read it? You're hittin' that Obama crack a little too hard if you think they did. They have no clue what is in it. It's time we get all the lawyers out of D.C. and bring in people who have real world experience running a business. Let's put an end to the lobbying, while we're at it.
Unions also need to go. There time has come and gone. What good have the unions done in the past 15 years? Working conditions are not what they were in the 18th century.
Even though the Constellation program has been shut down for an extended period of time, NASA is still spending $1.4 million a day on it. Does that make any sense? I'm sure there's better uses for that money throughout the country.
Something that pisses me off about Obama is that he promised the people working at Cape Canaveral, which is where the shuttle and some rockets launch from, that he wasn't shutting them down. Well guess what, he did. NASA is one of the biggest employers in this area both directly and indirectly. That is going to kill what's left of the economy here. Just lake week more than 500 people got laid off.
While I'm at it, why the hell aren't we producing more oil for ourselves? I've heard the argument "It won't bring down prices because it won't stay in the country." I understand that, but once you flood the market with a surplus of oil the prices will drop. Once oil prices drop the prices of virtually everything drops. Then there's the "Drilling for oil will destroy the Earth." Yes, it will, when not done properly. We are the cleanest drilling country in the world. Drilling in Alaska will not be as bad as the tree hugers want you to believe. Had the BP incident happened in say 1,000 ft or less of water, or on land it would have been fixed within two days. The only reason it took as long as it did was the extremely high pressures they were dealing with. You can't send divers down a mile, but you can send one down 1,000 ft. I challenge you to name 3 things that don't require any form of petroleum for their production. I can't think of any.

For my part I apologize in the hijacking of this post. It's always interesting when seeming rational people with similar interests have differing opinions. I guess I took the title of this forum section literally.
Now back to the topic at hand...It's a website for the pontiac enthusiast.
