I figured out the pinion angle for my rear end so I tacked it in place and attacked the last part of the drivetrain. Minus the driveshaft.

It only has turn downs in front of the rearend right now. The exhaust kit did not fit very well. I need to have custom tail pipes made. That should help quiet it down a little.

Sounds quiet to me. I bought a set of blowmaster tailpipes from Summit. they fit quite well actually. This was after I had been to 2 shops where the guys looked under the car and just laughed at me and told me to go away.

If you are hooking up an AAW update kit and need to buy a new neutral safety switch here is the wiring for the switch.

Radio/CD player installed without cutting the dash. I still have room for the AC vent when I install Vintage Air. The controler will mount where the original radio was. It will fit in the center of the radio opening.


Amp mounted without adding any extra holes. I made brackets to use existing holes.

This is not a factory color so you have been warned. I wanted an aqua/marina blue that was common back in the 60's and 70's. I ended up using a 2010 Camaro aqua blue. It was a retro color used for just half of the year.

Should I paint the snow plow or leave it black? I actually like the front and rear spoilers. Even thought about adding a front one. A good (Pontiac) friend of mine has been trying to talk me into adding a rear spoiler. Not going to happen.

Paint your spoilers with invisible paint.

I tried the invisible paint that you told me about. You cannot see the front spoiler but I will reap the benefits of it.

Drilled holes for the 400 emblems and cut out the scoops.

Is that an optical illusion behind the hood emblems? Almost looks like some extra creases in the sheet metal.

The first pic shows little creases by the emblem. If you look close you will see it is circled. A little work will need to be done to get it straight.
It is a repop hood from AMD.

No, I mean the long creases along the entire raised scoop area. I hope that's just an illusion. Seems way off in that area.

Personally- I Can't tell if that's optical illusion from florescent light fixture reflection or a crease... Curious though...

I think I see what your talking about. The raised scoop area is nice and smooth.

A little closer.

Trying to work on the car a few hours each week. The after market 400 hood had a couple of problems. But it will work just fine for me. The back section was lower than the cowel panel. A couple of sanding blocks and a little pushing on the sides and that was fixed, The latch was the same width from side to side as the latch opening. I used a big center punch to help with the roll bend and a little filing and that problem was solved. The front corners need a little tweaking up and down to meet the front of the fenders evenly. One will be fixed with the hood adjuster bumper and the other side will just need a little tweak down. I'm not happy with the fit in the back across the full width. Not much I can do about it though. I cannot widen the fenders out as it leaves to much of a gap with the cowel panel. All in all it was what I expected.

Looking forward to seeing it completed.
