Photos attached of my left rear. Bracket can be restored, but rubber stop itself cannot. My right bracket and bumper are completely missing....again bracket I can fabricate, but rubber bumper I cannot. I also need a center rubber stop.
I'm not finding these in repro catalogs. What are people using in place of the originals? Or am I missing them repro somewhere?? The rubber portion measures approx 3" x 2", and almost 2" tall.
Any leads or alternatives would be appreciated. Considering Energy suspension polyeurethane 99119 or 99109's, and fabricating brackets as needed. But I guess I prefer original repro or NOS bolt-ons if they can be found for less than the cost of a first-born...
I had no idea these little suckers were repro'd...THANK YOU! Exactly what I need...
I guess I was using the wrong terminology in my searches. Now that I am using the correct terminology "Rear Axle bumper" they're popping up all over the place from several repro part suppliers...
For the benefit of others in the future, it seems they're manufactured by OER, and part numbers are 3932734 and 3932733.
Yes I bought the center rubber too...this car was driven for many miles with a broken left rear spring, so my rubbers were all kinda MASHED...not to mention cracked from being 43 years old...
Resto-mod heavily under way...chassis almost done, getting ready to bolt everything back in now...maybe will drive it before the summer is over.
Thanks for the lead Project69, I was not aware of that place, but I looked up the address and I know the location very well...must be right there by the NHRA raceway (IRP, ORP, whatever the heck they call it now...) in Clermont. I will actually be at that track tomorrow night for the Kroger 200...the LAST year for NASCAR Nationwide series on that short track before they move it over to the Indy track starting next year...sad end-of-an era.
I actually live about 15 minutes from there, so I will have to check out the place you mention in Clermont sometime and see what they've got. Much appreciated.
FWIW, I did order these bumpstops and several other parts from D & R Classic (they're near Chicago). Ordered approx 3 pm on 07/27, arrived AT MY DOOR on 07/28...less than 24 hours later. I did not ask for or pay for that kind of speed...cheap shipping and very impressive service, not to mention 10% off. I found the repro metal brackets are not a perfect fit compared to the originals...I'll need to beat and bend them around a little bit to get the holes to line up...but that's still a heckuva lot better than fabbing from scratch!
