Hi Everyone,
I put together a quick survey so we can "vote" for a location and date for the next FGF Cannonbird Run. I think it's easier than tracking a bunch of emails. There is only a few questions and a place to fill in the blank for extra locations. It says that you can go back later and revise your answers too. Please take five and go to this link.
I was just on the Cannonbird website looking for an update!!! I love the TN locations, but before I do the survey, I need to work my thinking thing and see what else I can come up with. Still regretting not going to Estes, I'm going to everything I can to make the next one.
We are having a conference call this week regarding this years Cannonbird Run. We would like some preliminary numbers to give to the lady that is working on hotel rates, etc. If you could just give us an idea of yes, no or maybe, it would help significantly. The Run is going to be in the Fredricksburg, TX area (wine country) between San Antonio and Austin. Kelly Murphy has created this power point to give you some ideas of what can/will be going on, in addition to the car show. Enjoy and please reply ASAP.
thanx man! That link is just to give an idea of what we are planning on doing and to gauge intrest. Once we have all the details, will put out an "official" link. Kel
My grandparents live in Comfort and there's always speed traps set up around Fredericksburg, Kerrville, and Comfort. I'm always getting stopped there. If you're on 87 you're likely to get pulled over for going even 5 over.
No problemo......the "event" will only be in the Fredericksburg/Luckenbach area....just keep it at posted limit, good to go...btw, my wife and just spent the weekend in that area, went through Comfort and Kerrville...can't remember seeing any coppers....anyway, we'll be cruisin at a nice & easy pace....to take the beautiful Hill Country scenery in ;-)
We went to Fredericksburg last year and stayed at a bed-and-breakfast. We had never been there and it was a nice get-away. The coolest thing thou, was to 'Hike the Rock' at the State Natural Area. That thing is just a huge chunk of granite. All I saw was countertop material everywhere! Like hiking a mountain parking lot made of upheaved granite. I dont know how else to explain it.
I've done it twice. It's a lot of fun and some good exercise. Rustlin' Robs is pretty cool in down town Frederickburg. You can sample all of their dips and hot sauces. Satans Blood is by far the hottest thing I've ever tried.

We'll be heading down Monday, getting into Little Rock area around 5 p.m. if all goes to plan. Can anyone make a recommendation for car-safe lodging in the Little Rock/Texarkana/Carthage TX area? We'll have our daily driver along too, just need a safe place to lodge the car overnight.

Maybe someone could help me try to ID the color of my Bird. It is very close to the color of the center car, 3rd from left in this photo. I know it is difficult to pin point from a 20 foot photo.
Thanks for the picts! What was the final car count?

What a great bunch of people and really cool birds. We had a fantastic time, really enjoyed ourselves. Did so much visiting at the car show I didn’t get to take pics of everything I wanted! Met a lot of really good people, it was a pleasure. Here are my pics.
