howdy. new to the forum. I have a question about my brake lights. no lights! I have turn signals, back up lights and tail lights but no brake lights. wiring seems ok, no blown fuses. Are the brake lights tied to the turn signal switch? IS there a brake light switch somewhere?
Another question - I bought a new tach wiring harness and no diagram to hook up. I read that one wire hooks to either the coil or the distributor but am not sure which is correct.... any and all help would be appreciated
Welcome to the site. There is a switch mounted on the brake pedal arm that is activated when you step on the brakes.
The tach wiring harness, if your using an hei distributor there is a terminal for the tach wire to connect to. If you have a points style distributor with external coil then the wire will attach to it.
the brake light switch goes into a metal bracket behind the brake pedal and a wire attaches to the back of the switch. where does the other end of that wire hook up?
Two wires connect to the brake light switch. You may have a broken terminal on your switch. White wire goes to the steering column and orange to the headlamp switch.
